ph.1 boxes were longer because they had less lard to haul over ph.2 Cup ph.2's obviously offset this slightly. Would weight loss of a Cup help grab a couple of HP, or is that just to improve acceleration not V-Max?

Damn you're hero. Anyway, I've been told no to a longer 5th gear before (looking for MPG's over MPH though!) A longer final drive would work much the same, but could you live with your 0-60 being possibly as much as a tenth longer?

So, back on point:- What you can do to a 1.2 clio? Fill it up with fuel, drive it to a garage and sell it. Or cover it in fuel and flick a match at it. Both of these result in a better outcome than trying to make it into something it's not.
