i know a lad that is a bit "away with the fairies" when it comes to cars!!! He started off with an RT or it mayve been an RSi. Anyway, it ended up with a 1.8 8v Rsi with a 2.0 laguna bottom end on carbs (this is what i was told, never saw the engine) and it was insured as an RT. It was lowered...
yeah if its done properly it will last. I did mine using the wrong primer and it flaked off after about 2months, ive re-done it now and ive got no probs other than a few small stonechips!! If plastisiser is used then youll have no probs. Some sprayers dont like using it
I think they do a viper for it, but do you really want to pay £250 for something that aint going to make the car any faster???? Ive got the piperX induction kit on mine with a powerflow backbox (sounds really good)
GR - Including VAT and Del!! (your probably right about the naff tyres) I was offered them for £820 (or it mayve been £800) with Goodyear F1s from wheel mania
I thought about this, and after ringing Magnex i found out that the 172 has a larger bore exhaust system that a 1.2 (obviously!!!) so it aint going to fit. Ive got a powerflow backbox, very happy with the sound (£140) no need for a full system cos its already got a S/S sytem on it
You cant get a superchip for it. I was going to get a full exhaust but when i took it to powerflow, they said it would be a waste of time cos its got a full stainless steel system as standard, so i just changed the back box. Sod the warranty, they dont really care (take off the induction kit...
I still reckon if you want to "chip" your car, UNICHIP by Dastec is the way to go, its set up to run max fuel economy at normal speeds and max power at full throttle. Gains were somethng like 30bhp on a beemer!!!!
let me guess, "our motorsport pack greatly enhances the performance of the 172" or more like "we take you for a mug and charge you a fortuune for something that costs us bugger all, and also we intend to knacker your car in the process and charge you a small fortune to fix it" (im guessing...
ive had both Apex 40mm springs and im now running Pi 60mm springs (standard shocks) I would say ride and handling is better on the 40mm springs than the 60mms. The handling on 60mm is a bit bumpy and the car can hop around a bit. Im eventually going to upgrade to koni adjustable shocks or full...
your talking about tenths of seconds difference (not minutes) The weight of the wheel also makes a difference. I.E. Heavy 15s VS lightweight 17s = sod all difference
