What have you done to your car today ???

Fitted a new solenoid seal yesterday and a new set of NGK coil leads. Topped up the oil that was slightly down along with the coolant level too.

The Gaming Thread (General Gaming Jibba Jabba)

To be fair - this is where things are different within the PC market. I get what you're saying in adjusting things for inflation and the like. But having looked at my cdkeys account just now - I have bought 25 games since the 26th April last year. The most expensive? Assetto Corsa Evo at...

    Wreckfest

The figure-of-8 circuits are a Wreckfest staple and just so much fun and chaos. Either when you t-bone one crossing in front of you - or push the car in front into oncoming traffic.

    Wreckfest

Bought Wreckfest 2 last night. Immediately improved (if subtly) and recognised as a Wreckfest game. Noticed that the audio is much better and I had good fun on it. Looking forward to the full content coming out. (y)

    182 Horrible Noises....

Definitely in safe hands if Mark rebuilds it for you. (y)

What to check first on a non-working cruise control (182)?

Buying a new switch didn't make any difference - boo. The code above was the incorrect switch as well - it's this one that is needed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185899467851 The horn works fine - as do the controls on the audio stalk. But the buttons on the wheel itself do nothing. Is there a...

What have you done to your car today ???

Yep - still got my undertray - though not the original one. The creatures at Renault Bury either forgot to put it back on or ate it - but they denied all knowledge when my car was there donkey's years ago. Bought a replacement off a CS member on here and still have it to this day.

What have you done to your car today ???

Got the exhaust surrounds back on earlier - looking much nicer.

    Assetto Corsa EVO

I'd actually say that that is more tricky than the Corkscrew itself. Depending on what car you're in - the arse-end want to go wide and its very easy to unsettle it.

    Assetto Corsa EVO

Some people live for sims like these though. Literally shaving 100ths of a second off each lap. For every circuit though, there's always part of the perfect line that doesn't 'feel' right. I tend to drive where I think is correct, but on some corners, I'm way out from the ideal line. Clearly...

What to check first on a non-working cruise control (182)?

I forgot to update this! I noticed that the cruise light wouldn't even come on recently - just the orange limiter one. Not that it made any difference - still nothing changed when I pressed any of the buttons on the wheel. I did swap out the brake switch this week and now I have both the...

What have you done to your car today ???

New starter motor fitted. Hopefully that has now put my non-starting issues to bed!

What have you done to your car today ???

Washed it at the weekend - it was strangely satisfying to wipe the crud and other crap from behind the clips that had sat in situ for two decades!

What have you done to your car today ???

Flicked off the exhaust tip surrounds over the weekend to get them painted up - proper faded and crap looking. High winds put paid to that, however! Still, got them sanded ready for primer. Might give those exhaust tips a once over with some polish while I'm there.

The Gaming Thread (General Gaming Jibba Jabba)

Spent nearly 5 minutes pissing about with the radio, right at the start. Had me thinking about if it took me that long to turn a dial and to pull an aerial up - how the hell would I be even able to move and shoot anything. ;) Any game controls should not only be instinctive, but quickly become...

Anyone familiar with DevOps? Simple question....

Hi all, New to Microsoft DevOps myself, but learning it from a BA perspective. Just wanted to know if there's a simple document storage option per project at all? I want to upload generalised items like .docx, .pdf, .vsd files and the like that cover scoping docs, stakeholder analysis - items...

What have you done to your car today ???

Not today, but on Sunday I had my preventative maintenance head on. Swapped out the inlet O-ring. Added a new inlet gasket while I was there. Removed the TDC sensor and gave that a good clean up. Cleaned up the relay tray and inserted them back in. Cleaned out the fuse panel and wire...

182 Engine Shuts off while driving. Electrical Issue?

Hmmm - your issue might closely align with mine. That brake switch was swapped a few months back in an attempt to investigate the cruise control issue. Since then, it can occasionally dip into the idling revs, almost to the point of stalling. It never has, but it does sound related as I never...

182 Engine Shuts off while driving. Electrical Issue?

Could be. Mine's been weird for ages. I could switch the limiter on, or the cruise and the orange and green lights would light on the dash accordingly. However, they did nothing with to affect the car's speed. I had the brake switch swapped as a test a while back and now the limiter works...

182 Engine Shuts off while driving. Electrical Issue?

Curious - why would a brake switch make the engine die? Is it a fail-safe device?

    Rail above airbox

Brill - thanks guys, I've attached it to the wrong side. Out with the screwdriver at dinner...... :P

    Rail above airbox

Just checking on that image - is the closest end of the rail on the right-hand side of the bulkhead, then screwed up against it? I think I might have put mine to the left? Possibly....

    Rail above airbox

Cheers for that. It seems I've got it the same, yet it looks like it fouls the side of the OEM airbox, where that hex screw goes in? Could be just me, but I'm sure I've not got it right.

    Rail above airbox

Hi all, Has anyone got a picture of the way the rail above the 182 airbox connects at the front end? I’ve put everything together after some work on it today and it doesn’t ‘look’ right. Cheers.

    Likely to be the starter?

Got the endoscope down there to check on the starter. Surprisingly looked quite tidy and the heatshield is definitely in place. Given how tricky it was to use an endoscope in the confines of that space, 100% confirmed that I wouldn't attempt to swap the starter out myself. The garage can have...

    Likely to be the starter?

Didn't get to use the endoscope today as it needed a recharge, so most likely tomorrow. Having swapped the pink relays over for testing yesterday, I gave them a once over from the little bit of oxidisation that some of them had on their pins. Will get those slotted back in tomorrow too.
  29. Darren S

    Likely to be the starter?

Will get the endoscope camera down near the starter at dinner - see if I can see anything obvious.
  30. Darren S

    Likely to be the starter?

I assume it's worth disconnecting the battery first before putting my hand anywhere down there.... ;) Check on the relays earlier and swapped G with E. Made no difference unfortunately. The retaining clip for the relay cover snapped off as well when I was taking the cover off. Not sure if that...
