Thanks for all the suggestions everyone - aiming to get the starter swapped with Nightingales as soon as they have availability.
As far as I'm aware, the heatshield should still be in place as I've certainly never moved it. I believe from the engine rebuild pics I had at AW Motorworks five...
I've touched on this in other posts, but I'm getting a weird non-crank issue when the car is warm and I go to start it. Absolutely nothing - lights, fans and dash comes on fine, but will not attempt to spin over.
First thing in the morning - it fires up no issue. If I leave it at work all day...
Might check mine again. It randomly behaved weird at a set of lights a few weeks back - almost like an injector failed, but had no warning lights on the dash.
Never came back afterwards - but you've got me thinking to check the coil pack - especially as it's so easy to get to.
I'm old.
Witnessed (experienced and got involved to some extent) with the cringe of the Max Power era 90s. Dimma kits looked s**t back then and they look absolute gash in 2025.
Hideous things.
Hi all,
Was going to remove my exhaust trims from the rear bumper and give them a spruce up. They look a bit crap and faded now.
Do they simply pull off in a certain direction, or are they attached with clips, etc?
Thanks.
The best one I had was a quick blat up the M6 to our Carlisle depot. Their main network switch had gone ape - so up there I went, with a new replacement.
Never been there before - so called the depot manager before setting off, telling him that I was on my way. Rocks up at the depot, laptop bag...
Downloaded it again at the weekend with the aim to complete it (finally) on the PC.
The Enhanced Edition that only came to the PC earlier this month, now actually makes it less console-centric and more adaptable to what PC players are used to. Rockstar being Rockstar, there are some weirdities...
Do you have a connection to the car? Otherwise, it seems a lot of effort to rescue a 27-year-old Clio. Granted, I'd probably do the same, if it was mine!
I would have thought that the insurance company would simply write it off. Is this why I assume, you're not going through them?
Think mine has started with this issue last week. Starts up every time when cold - no issues. Once warm, it doesn't even crank over - complete nothingness from the starter or anything. I get the dash lights and fans kicking in, but no attempt to fire up. No codes, no EML, nothing untoward...
Liking this more and more.
Had a full field of AI cars and put myself to the back of the grid in an Escort Cosworth. Selected dynamic weather too.
Managed about 3 laps in and then it started to drizzle. Didn't upset the car much, but then the rain got heavier. Definitely noticed that the...
I liked 2K23 - but have to give it special mention as having some of the best title music I think that I've heard in a game. The music in 2K21 was good - but 2K23 raised the bar quite significantly.
Silly question (again, apologies as electrics are not my thing) - is it worth adding some dielectric grease onto the connectors of a replacement earth cable. Or does it not work that way?
Hi all,
I seem to be going down various rabbit holes of details regarding getting a replacement earth cable - the one that is situated behind the arch liner of the nearside front, attached to the gearbox. I cannot find a Renault OEM part number for one and have seen posts online that say...
I think it might be right to say that the Lotus Emira has the most compliant arse-end in any of the cars so far. Was great to drive that around Brands earlier.
The Golf on the other hand. Show it a corner and the car responds with....
Literally pot luck if you have understeer, control, bit...
As per @JamesBryan below - that was pretty much the figure I paid when I had the drivers side done. Quite a bit of fabrication for that too - so I'm hoping the nearside is a bit less labour intensive.
@Matt Cup - you can, but they are silly expensive for what they are. I checked (admittedly...
Something has to change in the general browsing of Internet pages - surely?
I'm trying to make my way into learning basic SQL - reading online various steps of database creation, tables, queries, that sort of thing. Yet every, single, website is riddled with the BS comment "We value your...
Yep - had mine done over at Nightingales the other week. Also had it done at Birchdown in the past.
Both very reputable and know their stuff - so down to convenience really. Birchdown is just over 60 miles one-way for me, but has some great roads down Cheshire way. Nightingales are about a...
I took a punt on AliExpress - never ordered anything before in my life from there before - but it did turn up alright.
It comes with a rudimentary clamp system that I didn't use - but was lucky that the shifter mounting plate on my NLR GT Track had holes already that lined up with the back of...
