OEM cat is worth £400 scrap at the moment (that's what i got for my 172 cat a few weeks back) , so I'd want at least that reflected in the asking price, as you're going to have to get one for the MOT, or spend £250 on a good (i.e not KTEC) sports cat and have it welded in.
Yeah that's pretty rotten.. realistically not financially viable for someone who can't do all of the work themselves.
I don't think moving it on is a bad idea tbh
J&R shafts do get mixed reviews. You can get CV's for the original shafts to get them rebuilt, but they're pattern parts too so no different to aftermarket shafts. The guy that advertises shaft refurbs on FB/Instagram wants £300 for a pair and you can get two sets of pattern shafts for that. I...
I ran pre-compressor water meth on my MR2 turbo and it made a big difference, especially as they're limited for options for decent intercooling without hacking out the boot floor. Had a nozzle holder water jetted out of ally to sit inside the silicone hose on the compressor housing with the...
I listen to the tdc podcast to kill time in the car, but their content is mind numbing, unsurprising really as they're part of the auto Alex circle.
I've been binge watching this guy's E30 restoration over the last few days

Had the car over to my friendly fabricator this week to get the extra exhaust hanger for the BTB exhaust made, dropped it off on Monday at 4pm and collected it last night, really happy with the results.
250 miles done now, worked from home this morning so got the oil changed after lunch
It could have waited a few more miles, but I'm confident the rings have had time to bed in and I'm moving house in a couple of weeks and would rather any oil drips went on this drive rather than the new one...
I'm in two minds whether to camp solo or get a hotel/lodge for a few nights.. I kind of like the idea of getting the Mrs and kid to follow me down in her car with extra spares/tools etc rather than the chance of having a mechanical issue and being left stranded.
I would change it, pull the cap, re seal it and a fresh seal, just make sure the crank is clean where the seal sits and use a proper seal driver to make sure it goes in square.
First 50 miles done today without any snags, taking it easy just varying revs/load and engine braking. Feels good to be out in it again. Remember how horrible the seating position is though, I'll have to do something about that this summer
Looked good from the window of the gym this morning
They took the bumper off to paint it, but I did leave the car with them. They did the bumper, side strips, and door bullets. I dropped it off on Sunday evening before I went back to work and he had it done by Wednesday
I think I'd rather have a freshly painted bumper thats not a 100% match than one that's peppered with chips and scratches.
I had my back bumper painted, edge to edge with the tailgate and rear quarters you'd never know, the match is perfect, they charged me £280 all in.
I had the same thing, nipped it up and it stopped but I think it's still weeping a tiny bit. I'm going to remove the fitting again and replace the supplied copper crush washer with a dowty washer
Got my new steering wheel fitted today
Feels so much nicer than the OEM wheel, and matches the interior really well.
And fitted a new 3rd brake light from Barthel auto solutions
There was actually some sight of the sun in the sky today, roll on 1st of march when I can start using it.
I'm going to try to get out to as many meets/events this year, would be good to see some other NE Clio people there.
Weeknight meetings at the car barn once a month through the spring/summer.

Pistonheads...
B4's are just OEM equivalent shocks, nothing special. No better or worse than other pattern shocks like KYB etc.
EBC brake pads are shite, there's much better pads out there
