Roy - just get an X-Fi Fatal1ty and be done with it. You know it makes sense..... ;) On a serious note, as good as onboard audio sounds, it relies on codecs and thus a noticable hit on the CPU. Dedicated sound-cards relieve this load off the CPU. I noticed a considerable improvement...
