Mine used to look that clean........ once!
Quality rear pipes there - leeds182 - how much did they set you back?
Do they make any difference to the standard exhaust note?
D.
^^^^^ - what was involved to make your Cup perform like this, or is the list of accessories too long to mention!
Are we talking thousands of ££££ here?!
D.
Like yubnub said - youre only getting that performance because youre running on fumes!
Fooking impressive tho Chris. I cringed when I took mine to 7,000rpm the other day before changing gear - thats miles off yours!
Does the standard Reno rev counter keep in check at that sort of speeds? Or...
Scary sh*t, stuff like this.
Did anyone hear of that gang that were in cahoots with an insider at an insurance firm? Got loads of Scooby owners adresses, vehicle details etc and tracked their cars down. The easy targets nearly always got their cars nicked.
Apparently there was a garage up...
Does this thing just clip on in several places? Noticed it pushed out slightly on the front left, but just wanted to check before I got caked in crap trying to look underneath.....
D.
Am I right in saying that as you set off in first gear - even slowly and on level ground, a slight creak/clunking noise is the result of dodgy engine mounts?
5 months old, 3k on the clock and already Ive got this.....! :o
D.
sjtb - which dealership did you get it from m8? I went through Lloyds Car Select as well. Maybe its a ploy where semi-tarnished 182s get shifted through Lloyds, hence the cheaper price?
Or is that just me being paranoid??!
I tried the resume button (bearing it mind it was set to 75mph) just as I set off from a set of lights - well, you have to test these things, dont you?
I was surprised that it picked up speed in a moderate and controlled manner - not stupid amounts of acceleration or anything. Pretty good, I...
I had a few on mine - they obviously werent too clever on dewaxing it /finishin it off. Likewise, mines most noticable on the front bumper. Once the weather picks up a bit, Ill give it a full afternoon Auto Glym session.
Speaking of which, I noticed in Halfords that they did a specific...
...... until last night.
Set speed. Press + to go faster. Press - to slow down. Press R to resume. Hehe! Weird sh*t placing both feet on the floor mat and doing 75mph on the M66....
See, it doesnt take much to impress those people with small, fragile minds.... :D
Wouldnt it be great to have some mini-cameras installed in our cars that we could access from a video phone? Maybe one near the interior mirror with a fish-eye lens so that you saw most of the cockpit and another one in the boot?
Simply dial-up the cameras and see whats going on, on your own...
Big Gs got a good point. I think something like silver stripes would look good on a black 182.....
I didnt go for them when I ordered my car as I thought it would be a bit too drastic if I didnt like them...
STis are great, though the WRXs arent too bad either - even if they arent as mental or as quick.
If you can be patient, the new 2005 model WRX is out in the spring. This will undoubtedly push down the prices of the current models. In fact, some of the guys on ScoobyNet are quoting your budget...
Keep up the good work Paul - these updates are great. Id like to have the time, money and ability to be able to do something like this!
Youve saved a classic car from being run into the ground and bringing it back up to date. Id be chuffed just looking at the refurbed wheels everyday, let...
Ben H is right.
These lads dont sound like the type that just randomly think - I know, lets try and nick a car for fun. Theyve probably got tabs on something like a Cup and are stealing to order. The fact that there are four of them, kind of backs up how serious they may be. And the classic...
I have to say, with the external temp flashing away at -1 and barely reaching 0 by the time I got to work, the little 182 has behaved itself brilliantly. Obviously, no one in their right mind takes their car to the legal limits in this cold weather, but the composure over my ex 4-wheeled...
The Focus RS would probably be considerably quicker if they had fitted it with 4x4 transmission. It may have been a tight squeeze under the bonnet, but surely they could have managed it? Or were they reserving that 4x4 for the Holy Grail (aka Cosworth) model?
They do look good though and you...
I absolutely, decidely, 110% loathe and dispise car insurance - BUT - its a necessary evil that we all have to pay for.
The original post was very informative and a worthy read - the best bit imo, was the fact that many of the telesales people are nothing more than input clerks. They generally...
Same here - I sh*t my bricks initially. I thought the 182 was going to be a gas-guzzler. Takes a while to drop from full, then plummets to half, then takes a while to go further towards empty.
Dont trust your MPGs-to-go status either. The wifes Cooper S ran dry with 11 miles left. The annoying...
Mine was W rated from Rapid Fit at £130 all in. Couldnt find the V rated one anywhere, but like phunkey says - its not like we need a 168mph-capable tyre, is it???
