    Breaking in a new 182

Just be sensible with it, Id say. Let the oil warm up - dont bounce it off the rev limiter and just take it easy. I must admit though, a few days after I got it, I blatted it onto the motorway and grinned from ear to ear with the power from 4,500rpm+ - very intoxicating!

Well done m8 - another one to our ranks :)

    Infinicar

You may not have much choice other than a publication such as Auto Trader etc. While you think you car looks fantastic, most people will be suspicious. It was exactly the same when I come to sell my GT - I got loads of positive comments, but no one would actually take the plunge. I even took...

    EVO & RENAULT

Evos great because they go further than normal mags and criticise cars that have too much power or miss the point entirely. Things like mad AMG ML Mercs or Beemer X5s with 3,000bhp - its like, errr, why? One thing I thought was great (which they have now canned) was the buyers guide for true...

    EVO & RENAULT

Evo is great because it shows you people who have the jobs that wed all like to have. "Sorry, I actually get paid for ragging this Porsche GT3 all over Europe? Oh well, someone has to do it, I suppose...."

    Sticker Help....

Bloody hell m8 - £120 each side?! I know the GT Turbo stickers on the side of Punto were on there for over 3 years and didnt peel. http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1105364093__DSCF0002.jpg On top of that, they cost me for £3 each side. A lot less detail/work than yours I admit...

    Acid yellow Clio V6

Tempting. I could never really afford that, but tempting, nonetheless! Hey, just thought. Weve no kids either - who needs the rear seats???!

    Acid yellow Clio V6

What do people think of it in Evo magazine? I think it looks great - not sure I could look at that colour everyday though. It certainly stands out.

    182 exhaust woes....again

Bad luck m8. Will you be considering a 3rd party exhaust instead?

    Clio vs Saxo

Jeez - the Saxos arent that good. Most VTS owners just back off with the 182 - in case they get shown up. Pug 106GTi owners tend to be more cheeky though! ;) A pleasant surprise was the Fabia vRS - that diesel wallop mid-range gives it some pace, but once the VVT on the 182 is on song, it...

    Mini’s - hairdressers cars

I own a 182 and the wife owns a Cooper S. Id prefer mine anyday - the Cooper S is a poor-mans poser version of the TT - its not what the car can do thats important, its the badge and what the car actually is that means the world to most people. My wife loved it initially but shes wanting to...

    Newbie Hints

Graham, first off, can I just say that its good to see someone who has the cash and buying ability for an Evo 8, considering a 182. Personally, I would donate half of my anatomy to medical research if it meant I could afford an Evo. Ive been an avid follower of the Evos since the Mk.4 (not...

As any righteous ex-turbo owner will tell you - bhp is always secondary to torque. Sack the bhp, gimme more lb/ft! :) D.

Cleaning question - pls help guys!

Not sure if this has happened to others on here, but Ive still got the adhesive backing on the drivers door cill from where a protective strip was placed during transport. Ive tried to get it off with both Auto Glyms intensive tar remover and the bumper care solutions, but it only takes a...

    182 tyre(cup pack)..where will i get one

Is the tyre really shot? I ran mine on 2 PSI for a bit - as long as youre careful. The nail was straight through the shoulder on mine, so probably not as bad as yours though. No-one had the Exaltos in when I phoned around. Every place needed to order them in.... :(

    Am I getting too old

escobar - thumbs up m8. I fully agree with what youre saying. I got to the big 30 last December and upon seeing tools like these (why do they pick petrol stations???!) it makes me smirk as well. Weve all done chavtastic moments in our driving - purposely letting go a full pressure load out...

    182 tyre(cup pack)..where will i get one

Whereabouts are you m8? I had mine done at Rapid Fit in Blackburn for £130 all in. That looks to be a typical price, unless youve got access to the right equipment and can just buy the tyre alone. Cheapest quote I got for the tyre (I think?) was around £96. D.

ATTN V6 Owners that HAVE had the recall

Short of having inbuilt GPS trackers, theres not much we can, is there? Ive had strong suspicions when my ex-GT was at Fiat, that it had been run ragged. Theres not much proof that carries any weight and unfortunately, youre left with trust and trust alone. I know how pissed you feel, vee6...

    Just one thing....

.... if you could have just one feature off your previous car(s) in a Clio, what would it be? Mines really trivial, but the boot release catch on my Punto was great! I wish that was on my 182.... D.

    Paranoid!!

LOL - I think the same applies for all of us - we worry too much! :D Having said that, theres a small list of vehicles that I wont park anywhere near in a car park, just in case they slam their door into yours, etc.... Stupidly large 4x4s - way to unwieldly and they probably couldnt tell...

    182 = Rubbish

Each to their own, I suppose. Its not bighps fault that he likes the GTi - obviously his prescription is wearing off. The CTR I agree with and hey, Ive got a 182 and its not to everyones taste. It doesnt feel quick on the uptake (something I felt in exactly the same way with the CTR I drove) and...

Managed to get a 5-week old Punto Sporting (1.6 8v model) as soon as I started working. Pretty lucky I guess - almost new and nothing went wrong with it.

mpg how many do u get

Mine seems to sit around 31.2-31.8 for the most part. Probably 50/50 split on motorway/normal roads. Im wondering as the miles rack up, if the MPG rate will increase as the engine loosens up? D.
