I've got the Super Sport on my 2001 Phase 1 172 and it can be pretty loud when up the revs but motorway driving isn't really a problem for me tbh,I like it!

Cambelt is 72k or 5 years, whichever is soonest. Aux Belt is 36k. All 172's should have had atleast one cambelt and aux belt change and every 182 thats on a 54 plate should be due just now aswell

Very good idea mate! I had my old boy with me (he's a mechanic/engineer) so I was kinda lucky when I went to look at the 172! I would recommend taking someone mechanically minded, it'll pay dividends when it comes to future maintenance!

So long as the car has been cherished and maintained religiously ot should be fine. Make sure the car is cold prior to inspection, warm cars hide faults that may arouse during start up so request it be cold.

Yes but sadly it isn't the case. In standard form the 182 is not better at negociating corners at speed than a Phase 1. Straightline speed is the same. So what number of the Placebo Edition is yours?
