You'd get laughed at...
I went to a garage on a sunday and they wouldn't look at it straight away and wanted to charge me standard labour rates!!!!!!
The horror
If you look at the S1600 section of the RenaultSport online parts thing you can see the completely different fabricated subframe and front wishbones/hubs and the fabricated independant rear suspension
It's a stupid test really as the noise a car makes stationary at 3/4 max revs bears little resemblance to the noise it makes flat out under load with the induction and transmission noise thrown in :)
You have to remember that its a logarithmic scale, so the difference from 96-98db is more than the difference between 95-97db.
If your car is more than 98db it is loud, and a decat shouldnt make that much difference from 95db
Depends how you measure it too... the MSA Blue Book states a...
Finished plumbing in the extingusher, two nozzles in put in the engine bay with the pipes running down the O/S inside the car to the extinguisher behind the drivers seat.
The extinguisher can be activated from the outside or by a pull cord on the inside behind the handbrake...
If there is a high level brake light fitted it has to work.
And why the hell wouldn't you connect it up anyway. Not doing it when you know its going for an MOT just because you 'couldn't be bothered' is just dumb and you get no sympathy
Not a massive amount really, no big jobs left. Once the extinguisher is plumbed in it is things like towing eye, mudflaps, sump and tank guard, steering wheel and then just tidying up.
Might need to look at the driveshafts again but then I think it will be logbooking and giving it a shakedown
Cobra seats and Willians harnesses have been fitted; and the rear quarter, tailgate plastics and windscreen have been bonded in now. Also got the new cup spoiler all finally fitted.
Bolted the navigators footrest to the floor, and wired in a foot mounted button for the horn...
Now the car is back from the paintshop we had to put back on everything we had taken off before sending it.
Door catches, locks, door seals and trims all went on with no problems. Put in the plastic door windows we've had for a while now into the original rubbers and held them in place...
It will fit, just 6 nuts to take the whole beam off (although it might be a pain to undo them)
Clios with disks on the back:
RS models
1.6 (some varieties)
Big diesels
If you want a second hand 172 one expect to pay £150 to £300
Putting a rubber ring round the holes is something we had thought of doing, plus i'm going to have a go at making some kind of bung for when it's raining and not needed. Not the easiest shape to make something for though.
You won't have any trouble beating me, i'm just going to be trundling...
A bit slow going, but been quite busy the last few weekends. The car is ready to go off to get painted now.
The dash is now all complete apart from screwing it back up and putting the newly painted dash inserts back on
Have fitted Aerocatches to the bonnet, such a pain to fit as i'm...
Try www.sparkplugs.co.uk
Ive use them before and was very impressed, very fast delivery plus I could get 5 individual plugs instead of 2 packs of 4 from other places

Before the end of the year hopefully. Not go a specific event set as the first outing. A couple of months hopefully
Should be off to the paintshop in the next fortnight though!
The steering lock I have already removed, I just cut the 'peg' that slides out off level with the body of the barrel. The barrel is going to be left in soley to turn the ignition on and off, no reason it couldn't be put on a switch but theres also no reason to take it off the barrel. The...
