I left old C5 on for far too long. Nightmare to buff off but it was certainly still there when I re-sealed the following autumn.

I tend to write intermediate oil change info in the margin, more as a reminder for me for when it's done.
If I ever sell it I'm not too bothered if anyone believes me.
The ticking at idle is probably just the valves. It's much more prominant with the RS2.
I'm not qualified to judge the grinding noise when revving though.
