That's a fairly stereotypical "dummy out" post, right there. All over some (highly likely to be illegal) number plates... ho hum.
Anyway, both cars look great. Save for the s**t plates, naturally.
Wax looks a little thick, Caz. Next time, try a damp applicator to ensure the layers are thin as possible. Good start, any after buffing? And let us know on the beading and longevity.
Pre Wash:
Auto Finesse Citrus Power (probably the best wax safe pre cleanser even if it's a tad expensive)
Wash:
Obviously 2 buckets and grit guards (any really)
Pressure washer (Any really)
Hyperwash does the job for me.

You two watched the first episode of the new Drive "Inside Bentley" show? Saw a guy wielding a massive wool pad and angle grinder on the front wing of a finished vehicle and shuddered. Lol.
2000 grit is not exactly a high grade chap. Flatting should be 2-2500 followed up by 3k and 4k before polishing, so no wonder you can't get the marks out.
And if FC+ can't shift the marks, they're either below the lacquer or your technique is incorrect.
Likewise, hence I took an interest when it appeared. They had 22 accidents attributed to this fault, I believe. Several fatalities as well, so amazed it's not a required update/recall.
