I agree with you entirely. However, I would also refer to the 7 Ps; Proper Planning and Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance. I.e. stock up with the right products first, then embark on the "correction".
Yes. I use it. But FK1000p is not a "normal wax/sealant" as it's specifically designed for high temperature/chemical environments, such as those found around the brakes/suspension.
I would class a normal sealant/wax as Chem Guys' Blitz or Crystal Rock. These would not last.

I jet spray my car before going anywhere when I'm bothered about the dust. Then either drive off to help with water sheeting or use the open hose technique. When I arrive at the photo opportunity/meet, I have QD and towels for any drips.
