A sealent is like a liquid wax, i.e. it seals the paint after polishing it. Think of paint needing lacquer to last against weather, washing etc. The sealent is like a temporary "lacquer".
Sealents are more resistant to weathering than waxes, so last longer. Hence me mentioning if you won't get...
Lol. Again, it doesn't protect the polish, it protects the fresh surface of the paint that the polish has uncovered. But you're getting there and I'm being pernickety ;)
Nope. Acid rain, especially in built up areas like Manchester/NW.
It doesn't protect the wax Pedro - but I think that's a mis-type, not your misunderstanding.
Sealent to me is either or. If you have the time to wash and re apply wax on a regular basis, wax it. If it's winter, or you live away...
Precisely that Kat.
Polish, no. Wax, in a few weeks/months. Never any harm in topping up buddy.
Oh, and get some pics up to show off your work - sounds like the car deserves it.
Neither really, I use the same stuff most of the time, that's why it's . . . retarded. Two cans of Tardis, one for clients/family the other for my car alone. Same product, same use, different "uses" lol.
Flol, got the tonage for RO water Highlander??? iWish.
Tommy, sorry buddy, I'm a bugger with PMs if I read them at work - usually then forget to reply when I get home!
Nothing wrong with that for your useage buddy. Just wash with the mitt and the shampoo. Once done, sheet water over the...
Don't use powder as Markie said, as it won't disperse as well as a liquid cleaner.
Other than that, you shouldn't have an issue. Mine don't last long. Few uses and they get demoted to glass duty, then wheels, tyres etc. Then bin!
Tommy, did you PM me a while ago and get a reply off me? Can't for the life of me remember lol!
You only need to wash and dry buddy. The wax should last you a couple of months. What did you use?
What wash method do you have at the moment?
Lol, you said it! We have a diseasel. It does great mpg . . . i.e. what it was designed for! Thought about remapping the S3, but thought nah, I want better MPG out of it . . . ;)
OK, in that case, if you are a Halfords shopper (which it sounds like you are) pick up some Meguirars Scratch X + either an applicator or a MicroFibre towel. Polish in small circles and then buff off any residue.
If you can buy online, try these links for two products...
LOL! You're kidding right? You get much much more if you drive normally, not razzing it everywhere! The 1.2s are economical, may not be as economical as a diseasel, of course.
If you want mileage, buy one. But if you're going to remap them, like some of the numpties in the "1000 bhp from my...
NOOOOO.
Don't use T-Cut. And don't use UDS, it's not a great product.
You have scratches on your car - how deep? How many? Are they swirls like fig1 or scratches like fig2;
fig1;
fig2;
It will only affect the level of correction if it's not been done very well, i.e. flatted down properly.
It will, however, affect the amount of times it can be corrected as it will be a different depth to the rest of the panels. Hence Daniel's comments of Paint Depth Guages (Paint Detective...
Was about to say the same Russ, surely buy something like SN or BOS rather than having to use 12 coats of a wax that doesn't last! Surely be cheaper as well!
Great results though lad :)
