My first bash with 3M Polishes and a touch of Zaino... Megane R26

Yet to try these Russ, even after AR swearing by them recently. When I find more time I'll get my arse in gear.

    How often....

You shouldn't to keep it well polished, just waxed + protected. Polishing is there to remove scratches and contaminants. If you wash it using a decent technique and keep the paint sealed, you avoid these two. Polish it properly, then seal and/or wax it and it won't need doing for a good 6-12...

    How often....

Polish is cutting the paint ;) And WD40, a microfibre cloth and elbow grease. Rub in and around hard to allow the WD40 to react with the polish. Then buff off and protect with a plastics product of your choice.

    200 issue

No point asking or guessing pal, I could say the engine is fucked when it isn't and just worry you. Leave it to Renault to sort it out. Sure it's minor and fixable.

    200 issue

Does it sound restricted Louis? i.e. air filter/fuel filter blockage etc? Could be a mass of things chap in all honesty. Best getting it plugged in and checked. Surely still under warranty so nothing to worry about?

recommend a detailer in South Yorkshire

No problem. Keep us informed as to how you get on. It's good to get an idea of locations and opinions of these places. Make sure you look into them thoroughly chap.

Oh no! What have I done!!!!! Greetings from Cardiff, South Wales

The reason there are so many comments is because there are threads in the For Sale section with track cars and ph1 172s that are around £1k. If you're telling me that they can fix the car that he has bought for less than this, great. But surely, buckets, cage, new dash, new wheels and tyres etc...

Where abouts are you based lad? I'm just south of Manchester and willing and able. Had a few lads from Huddersfield over recently. Failing that, maybe The Boosh aka Luke when he's back up north again.

mum is getting a new car... dimondbrite?

Interior ones are a good idea IMO, as long as you find a product/provider that isn't go to bend you over for re-application. The exterior is a joke due to the price. All these additives are a great idea, truly they are. Dad has a film on the front of his car, as well as the sides/rear arches...

This is the key thing that worries me, especially with a red car. Even TBM, prefoam, hose sheeting water and pat dry with QD I still get the odd mark and only detailed the car around three months ago.

    Car Polishing

Do you have any experience in machine polishing? If not, don't buy a rotary. Worth searching in the specific "detailing" sub forum fella.

    Optimum Hyper Polish Spray

SRP does have cut, but very very limited amounts. It is more of a filler but is still very useful basic product for wheels, metal, glass etc etc. As with all polishes, you are working with a finite amount of top coat on your car's paintwork. All polishes will go through this with time. Some...
