    Butterfly Effect

Lol. As said, no it will never end. Even when you've repaired everything, you'll then start buying pointless s**t, like washer blanks and aero wipers, silver bulbs, led interior lights, small plates, turini's, tow eyes, iPod leads, trendlines, arbs, manifolds, Sportlines, then coil overs...

    182 inlet manifold on a 172?

No bad chief - I though the same until I looked at mine a few weeks back - unless I have been 'had' by the previous owner. Inlets we're talking about? PH1 to PH2 172 are fine, as long as you have the ancilliaries from either - one is a cable throttle body, the other is FBW - I also sense the...

    182 inlet manifold on a 172?

Does it? Mine isn't. Top inlet is definately different. Some oil breather hose iirc. And something else, can't remember now, but what's the point. Rs2 inlet is the only thing I'd change for.

    Vmaxx Coilovers

No mate, he's an amateur detailer with OCD, which equals massive win for me. He just enjoys it TBF and see's me lumbered with child on Saturdays, so I think takes pity. What horse is the job car running? NOS?

Lolz, You've still got my number? Txt and I'll put the kettle on. My neighbour might clean the job car too, now that would be fun, bet those vinyls'll come off.

    Suspension Advice, Eibachs sportlines?

Er.. Don't really understand that pal. Are the shocks leaking? Is it one side or both?

Wheel speed difference & ABS sensor

    A) dunno - although doubt it B) I ran a 15" steelie from a billabong on a 172 non cup. Only complaint on the 182 is if it's got cup suspension (and Lows) as the offset may induce rubbing. But standard and it should be ok.

    Suspension Advice, Eibachs sportlines?

Any car parts place will order out of the book pretty cheaply. Not much point going for standard Renault jobs. Not really much to go on re: your problem. Anymore description?

    Vmaxx Coilovers

Me too (well, kid). Let's ditch them in a wacky and do burnouts. No worries bud, next meet might be a good idea, or any Sunday.

    Suspension Advice, Eibachs sportlines?

Sportlines are just springs to use with oem shocks.

    Vmaxx Coilovers

I've had both sportlines and Vmaxx (cheap coilovers as you describe - although not the cheapest) and would state that although the rider is bump(ier) on coilovers, the damping is better. It just feels more refined. Even wound right down, the handling is the same to be honest, no worse/better...

    Vmaxx Coilovers

Jim, The new one has Vmaxx - you are more than welcome to take it out and see what you think before you purchase anything. They are wound down for lowz + ladies (as if) so you will have to take that into consideration, but feel free to bob over and you can have the keys.

Sims? I thought it was questions only? didn't see that. Edit: I pressed home - and its full of sims! The NAT one was on the exam! Had no idea, cheating FTL - er.. do not use this site. To be honest the questions on the are for the composite, but they are more akin to the text of the cisco...

    Re-fitting steering wheel - wrongly

Had my wheel re-trimmed. When I took it off, I left the wheel straight before removal. I've put it back on, aligning the 3 splines and yet when driving its wrong! How the holy fcuk does that work. Its about a tenth of a turn off (about as much movement as you get before the steering lock...

It's rubbish mate. Take what where? There is nothing he can do and you do not need to do anything. He is bullying you to suit his agenda, stand firm and/or ignore.

Do not do anything. Turn your phone off and deal with the more important issues. You do not have to attend to sort anything out. There is fcuk all he can do - this is one of the classic bully tactics. Happened to me a few years ago, just ignored the calls.

How much am I looking at for replacement engine (182)?

Sorry, I explained that wrong. In your post you put about buying another car would be a better bet as people would want warranty/liability from someone fitting the new engine or the supplier of the engine. What I meant to say was that in comparison: Someone fitting an engine VS buying another...

How much am I looking at for replacement engine (182)?

Unless he gets it from a trader then you're no more better off IMO. At least with a purchase from a trader you have law on your side, but then trader prices are a bit more. I'd still recommend getting the engine, even though its a big faff. Depends on your position/circumstance though. I...

How much am I looking at for replacement engine (182)?

I guess the issue is getting the engine from one source, then having the belt done by another, then getting the engine and car mated by yet another. If you've got a pickup/van, then you could collect the engine, drive it to someone who'd do the belts, then get a mobile mechanic to fit it at the...

    Breaking down - lesson learnt

Yeah, typical eh. Ah well, I made it in time anyway. The 172 is sold so I'll be in the 182 from now on, so in the same boat as you - but the tyre foam wouldn't have saved me. The foam would have just run out of the side of the gash. Would have made a nice alloy pie, I think. + wasted the foam.
