182 inlet manifold on a 172?

Cos the boy is asking about inlets! The only real difference is if your 172 has normal inlets and the 182 has "rs" inlets. But then you're probably just as well to just get them matched anyway.

Does it? Mine isn't.

Top inlet is definately different. Some oil breather hose iirc. And something else, can't remember now, but what's the point.

Rs2 inlet is the only thing I'd change for.

Oh ok fair enough! I know ph1 and ph2 aren't interchangeable but must admit I assumed ph2 and 182 would be the same, my bad

No bad chief - I though the same until I looked at mine a few weeks back - unless I have been 'had' by the previous owner.

Inlets we're talking about? PH1 to PH2 172 are fine, as long as you have the ancilliaries from either - one is a cable throttle body, the other is FBW - I also sense the lower part of the inlet has some form of fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail, where as the PH2 does not - but both are interchangeable.

I've put a PH1 inlets on a PH2 by migrating the components above (probably more, but it was 2 years ago) but when coming to change PH2 172 > 182 there was a bit more too it - oil breather return pipe I think was one thing I remember and the layout of the rocker hole (although Im scratching my head thinking if that is correct) so its not a direct swap anyway - despite my poor memory.

You'd seriously have to consider why you'd bother though - load of faffing for little rewards.
