Turns out it was the plugs. Coil pack made no odds, so some new plugs were bought and solved it.

I've got a Vts as a track weapon dude and funnily enough I ran rings around e36 238's on first track day! Super little car, not sure about it as a daily, but so cheap for parts and there's not much in them to go wrong!
