Welcome back and glad you found another mk1 and again nice that you're restoring it to presumably pretty much as standard as you can. If you haven't already you should join the mk1 16V Facebook groups, we're an odd lot us mk1 owners but welcome all with open arms :ROFLMAO:
Looks mint, had mine done identically but perforated leather lower section about 7 years ago now and still looks great so you'll get many many years of enjoyment out of it
A chap on Facebook but unfortunately shut down now, however I've got another Facebook contact and possibly a local one too to investigate for more stuff I want doing
Had my upper inlet and fuel rail guard done in September last year, around 8k miles ago and it's on the daily so used over winter. I've not cleaned or touched the bay really since.
Chap who did it gave them coating of ACF50 before posting to me
Pics taken literally five minutes ago...
We're all finding out now that some are just prone, you need to get rear doorcards out and check inside for rot as they tend to rust from the inside out.
2.5 with no history is a little high, but flamer is desirable colour and they're all on the up so wouldn't worry really, you won't loose...
I get why other people lose history, other people I tend to find are useless.
Keep all mine together, folder per car and never let anyone else file it for me, seemples. Not really organised other than the order I stuff the reciepts in though
Bought the 3/8 stubby milwaukee on @dann2707 recommendation and got to say it's brilliant. Bought the larger battery for it aswell and it's a great little thing, saved me loads of time as a home mechanic.
Carbon mirror caps trial fitted. On the fence with them so going to get the rest of front end carbon on first. Then collect some spare mirrors, spend some time getting them fitting perfect and looking oe as possible then fit too the car and decide.
Powrflex rack bushes showed up too, thanks @Dr...
Exactly @Dr Jekyll it's all reversible and I do love to tinker so I'll get them fitted nicely to some spare mirrors and easy enough remove if not happy.
@0ss I used to have 16" ones but imo the 15" look better, and are lighter so no brainer really.
Beautiful wheels though, I need more of...
I'm still undecided, think with rest of front end carbon on it'll maybe work so gonna go for it I think.
@0ss bullets were done by carbon skins on Facebook, weren't cheap though, 70 quid I think. Including him supplying the bullets themselves.
I've got 4 old bangers and 'investment' is never how I've looked at it. Just lucky enough to have space and time for a hobby that means messing about with many old clios
