More progress last night
Refitted my ECU brackets after spraying them satin black, I'm going to replace the battery positive terminal too I think as the cover has broken loose and looks a mess!
Then I scrubbed back the surface rust in the inner sills and treated with a coat of hammerite...
not so sure on the downsize engine claim though, if you need to take meat off the crank/cam and casing to fit the wider bearing profile in then surely this is going to lead to weakness. so if anything engine itself may have to get bigger to accommodate. depends on peak loads on the crank etc I...
just check the main earthing points on the chassis, so front slam panel near battery, inner arch on same side (strap to gearbox) and also check the internal ones to bottom of a pillars under the plastic trims in front footwells
no matter what the specifics here, it definitely sounds like faulty caliper to me, either sliders or piston itself. so I'd begin with a light strip down in situ and check the slider sand make sure the pistons can be retracted relatively easily in the caliper
i'm in the track it and leave the belt camp too.
it may be clean etc but cat c will always count against it, and if it drives well and you know the car its ideal for a base for a track slag imo.
just read whole thread, great work and really looking forward to seeing it on the wheels as they look epic in the trial fit, don't think the colour choice could be any better!
ai get those door cards off inside and have a look, I've found some minor patches on my phase 1 this week from inside the sill, hoping to scrub back and treat this weekend to halt the tinworm in its tracks!
Love a little parts delivery on a Monday to cheer me up :-)
The rs badge is a marmite thing on a phase 1 but personally since seeing @Phase1sr car I knew I had to do it.
And new header trank and type D coolant to go in too after a good system flush!
I've got the same to mount, did you use the odyssey terminals to connect to standard wiring? and what cage did you use? i'm keeping o/e location too for ease of fitment tbh
Results of many hours of polishing and waxing, want to get another later or two of wax on this weekend as well hopefully but its beading quite nicely now for 16 year old French paint :)
Depends on vpn connection, we don't allow split tunnelling at work so can't access local Internet whilst vpn to site is active
Doesn't explain why your's used to work though unless it have changed something and not told you.
