    JDM Imports - Canada

1680 pounds as a car cost at auction but I still have shipping to pay for etc. To be fair the LHD stuff from France seems to be really pricey so maybe ive done ok in the grand scheme of things!

    JDM Imports - Canada

Parts are ok to source in general, Delicas are very popular here. Even parts from Japan are not that hard to get hold of you just wait a little while. I think i will unwittingly become the first Renault specialist in Canada, but again at least I can source parts from the UK. The timing belt and...

A couple more auction specials that are making their way across the ocean to joint the Evo 6. Mitsubishi Delica first followed by a minty mint 172 Ph1 :)

Clio V6 225 Rear inner tie rod end/assembly

If anyone can help me with this part number for a ph1 clio v6 that would be great. Not sure exactly what you'd call it...but its the inner rear toe arm / tie rod end (assembly minus the outer end link). Thanks

Yep LHD, 'back in the day' the French didn't really care about the Japanese so just sold them LHD cars. All 172's and Pug 106 GTI's are all LHD that are pre 2003ish. Importing into Canada - the car has to be 15 years old. USA has had some importation loopholes closed (they have a 25 year...

Set to work on the Evo. Changed the rear diff driveshaft and axle seals. Failed attempt of fitting a whiteline rear sway bar, It hits the rear subframe/diff carrier. First real look at the underside and luckily it super super good, no rust. Sill needs a good detail! Cheers...

I work in the oil and gas industry as a Trenchless Engineer. Have done for the past 18 months and been in Canada for 2 years now. Love it. Winter is well on it's way here, seen a few negative numbers over night already, time to tuck the Evo away in the garage until spring time.

I did but I left for the mountains out here in Canada. I miss my exclusive, was a great car. Thanks As @Philip. said, most parts are listed on the auction sheet before buying. But there were a few nice surprises.

Took delivery of this 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 about a month ago from the auctions in Japan to me here in Calgary. It's not perfect but, with it being 17 years old, I'm delighted with it. There are still a few bits to sort out over winter: Tidy some wiring New driveshaft seals on the rear...

I moved out here after quitting my job up in Canary Wharf on a bit of a whim. You are totally correct when you talk about how 'the place struck a chord with you'. It's so far removed from what you can experience and feel in the UK, myself being a big outdoors-ey mountain person I can't see...

Super premium here (99ish RON) would translate to 65p a litre. UK prices for petrol are eye-watering in comparison!

That's a good point, very true, petrol price move around like crazy here but at the moment it's 52p a liter but has been as low as 45p this year.

I'd say mid 20's as a combined figure would be realistic. Nudging 30 when cruising. They are a great car for the money.

To sum up the GTB, I'd say they are like a poor mans RS6. Importing one is very cheap (i paid about 2750 pounds landed in Vancouver) 280bhp twin turbo, Bilstein suspension from the factory. I had mine for 8 months and apart from an oil change and installation of a block heater to cope with the...

The Jap auctions are littered with many many cool/interesting cars. It's hard not to be tempted the whole time. But if someone knows where my old 172 PH1 is, i'd like to import that to Calgary!

@Darren S Yep I moved out to Calgary from London/Essex area. It is getting the Canadian equivalently of a MOT today so might have my hands on it this evening. Some of the mountain roads will be very good fun. Similar to the USA's 25 year importation rule Canada has a 15 year rule. @Phase1sr...
