FLOL It's not a carb'd Mk2 escort. Has it felt slower since the belts were done? You could always take the top cover off to check if it's got the old tippex marks on, or pay fred to check it for you?

Lambda could be out. You could do with getting it on the comp to see if there are any codes. Also, do you know when and who changed the belts last?
