They're a scary tyre in the wet, truly dreadful.
On mine I upped to 215/45R17 with no trouble on the OE wheel, put Goodyear Assyms on there and have some confidence back lol.
Did the same swap 15 months ago.
Civic (facelift) was a nicer place to be, and had better high speed stability, as said - nothing in it in a straight line.
172 is nigh on impossible to beat for fun/£ however.
For wheels, I'd go for Pro Race 1.2's, relatively cheap, relatively strong, relatively light, and very easy to replace. Sort of jack of all trades.
Call the guys at Rimstock in the Motorsport dept. they'll help with pricing and supply of a couple of sets.
I don't know what I would do without Bridge, I'd be in tears having to use finder/windows explorer every day!

We had the 430 Scud press car at work for dyno'ing for Evo back in 2008.
The Ferrari entourage was ridiculous. This 'road car' wasn't allowed to go near a public road.
Respect to the manufacturers that just hand the car over and let them get on with it.
