    Oh my...FRP content

The Racing Puma was the last car out of Tickford, there are very few of the original 500 remaining. The box is very close ratio and even better if you get the LSD version. The brakes are superb, proper motorsport squeeling spec Alcons. The standard suspension is Sachs/Eibach. Alcantara Sparco...

    Borg and Beck clutch kit

On my previous Fords one of the best clutch kits was the Borg and Beck kit. You got the full 220mm clutch plate rather than brands like LUK and National which came in at 210mm and used to slip. Has anyone fitted one on here to their Clio? I can get them at a good price so if its up to doing...

    Oh my...FRP content

They're not bad in ITBs tbh but the blocks have Nikasil liners and they don't last for long at high revs. Decent engine until they start going through 15w50 like its using it for fuel. Duratec is very similar and a much better option.

    Fitting 4-2-1 with head off

Is fitting the 182 4-2-1 whilst the head is off straight forward or still a fiddly job?

    Oh my...FRP content

I know where you're coming from. Perhaps a Duratec with cams and ITBs would be more suited to it.

    Megane gearbox in a Clio

Ok thanks :) Not a chance, did all that as a teenager :o and I don't do 1/4 mile; its all about the corners. I may leave it as it is and see how it goes, rather than fork out on the rebuild and circlip welding.

    Megane gearbox in a Clio

Thanks for the info. I was going to get a cheaper one than the one listed and have it rebuilt. Can the circlip be welded? I'm sure I've heard of that being done. Bearing in mind I'll only be running about 180bhp. Maybe 210 in the long run.

Running 421-438 catcams in a high mileage standard engine.

Maybe worth whipping the head off and checking the bores, doing new rings? Wouldn't be great fitting the cams and then having to do the rings later. Also worth doing the waterpump and depahser pulley I guess. You could jump on the group buy to get the head ported and polished too! Then all the...

    Megane gearbox in a Clio

Are the bell housing patterns not shared across a few engines? The ratios are great :) Correct, they have the same ratios but a 4.06 vs a 3.89 final drive. The one I've linked has the same gear ratios but a 4.21 final drive. That's what I've been trying to find out. I think its speedo drive...

    Megane gearbox in a Clio

Pointless?! No :) I find the ph1 box too long, although they seem spot on for running boost. And you can increase torque to the wheels in a few ways...engine tuning, gear ratios and a smaller rolling radius. All I need to know is will it fit.

    Megane gearbox in a Clio

Not the later 6 speed ;) Would there be any issues fitting this to a Clio Ph1 172? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/99-03-Megane-Scenic-1-6-16v-manual-gearbox-Guarantee-JB3936-BREAKING-FREE-P-P-/160784990774?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256f884236

    Civic ek9 vs clio 172

He's got VTEC yo, bet he's easily taken Lamborghinis and Ferraris. Should be an even match for a Veyron, VTEC is like 4 turbos.

    ITB'd Road & Track Ph1 Titanium 172

Re: Ph1 172 Well a couple of months later I've decided to get a few pictures up. The daily Focarse is black with silver wheels and the Clio is silver with black wheels! First mod I did was some wind deflectors. Gave it a quick wash and got some clear indicators and a set of pressed plates...

    Toe

Cheers guys. In that case I might set it parallel so it'll naturally toe out slightly once the cooksport springs settle

    possible cheaper inner track rod?

Are these the same for a Ph1 172 or is that different?

    Toe

Going to get the tracking set after fitting the cup arms to my ph1. How much toe works well? Still want decent turn in but keeping good straight line stability. I suppose parallel is the halfway point...

    Piper cams kit

I'm lucky and the rollers aren't a problem. I'll email Henk as what I want to clear up is whether he will adjust the map once or if you send it back for fine tuning.

    Piper cams kit

I'll be doing my logs at the local RR so I can monitor things and make sure I get what I need.

    Piper cams kit

I need to email Henk and ask a couple of questions about it. From what I understand you do the same as you would taking it somewhere to be mapped anyway, but maybe spend less time on it so you don't get the absolute maximum out of it.

    Piper cams kit

£312 and send your old cams to Piper, they send them back within 10 days or so. As for how safe on a standard map I don't know. I'm going to see how it runs on 98ron remap. I know Paul at RS tuning can supply and map these but to keep costs down on mapping, travel and as I already have an rs...

    Engine Dynamics.

You could do Piper cams for an extra £320 whilst the engine is out for a bit more go. Or 197 cams if you can get them cheap. Both a bit less than Catcams and it would be rude not too  I've been there before a few times with decent engine builds....not going there again

    Engine Dynamics.

If you want the head doing for a good price then look no further than the group buy I've got going. Get some better valves in there too at the same time. Then hand it back to A N Other to build the engine. As for revs you're going to need better springs and rockers unless you stick with the...

Maybe worth giving Piper a call and say you had them fitted but removed them due to issues not having the shims and would they honour you with a shim kit?

Best Bluetooth compatible headunit for £300??

I just bought a Kenwood BT42 for £80 from Halfords. Works great and does everything I need it to do. Even links with my phonebook so I don't have to call off my phone. Got the usual pre-outs, aux in, USB etc. Etc.
