The part infront of the coolant bottle, is only held on by a circlip, if you switch the ignition on and get someone to press the accelerator you'll see it open/close.

When computers go into standby mode and the monitor switches of then people come along and assume it's of and hit the power button instead of moving the mouse or tapping a key, then get peed of cos it takes ages to "log on" because the computer has now started to power down.
