you should see how many mk1 golfs there are here... they have just released an r-line version of it 1.8i with 96kw.. not bad but the car is still the same design from when it first came out, structure is still the same with few safety features and the body chages on it are cosmetic

sounds like the stuff you should use.. i did it to my old corsa.. pretty east actually. Clean the lights properly, apply a few thin coats of the paint and let dry between coats until you have the desired darkness.. if you have to, sand the lights with a wet fine sandpaper, clean them again...

thanks for the comments everyone :) There are not many options here for modding clio's or renaults in general at all!! I currently have a chip, decat and branch. Havent slapped it on a dyno yet tho. Heat here isnt really an issue for the car, im at sea level and the temperatures here are pretty...

Hey everyone... im sort of new, posted a few times already. Im from Cape Town in South Africa and drive a 2002 mk2 ph1.. awesome forum you guys have here, hoping to learn as much as possible bout my car and have already found answers to alot of questions :)

I was just thinking bout doing the same thing.. im sure it is possible, would prob just be ALOT of work. you would have to remove the badge section from the ph2 bumper and mod your grill or the ph2 bumper more to fit it. then you'd have to mod the ph2 bumper round the ph1 lights and to fit to...

are sportline springs alot better than cup springs? and are the cup springs better and lower than the std ph1 172 springs??

I knew they were angel eyes, i meant to ask the make of them... I'll never trust my cash on ebay, and getting anything shipped to africa, chances are good that they will get "lost" along the way :)

Na its the same bumper i think. In SA they sold the 172 ph1 until mid 2002 which is when the 172 ph2 came out.. i am right in saying that the diff beween the ph1 and the ph2 is the ph1 has the bug eye headlights and non crystal taillights and the ph2 has the upgraded crystal more triangle shape...

perfect... just the guide i needed. gonna try find a filter next weekend and get it fitted. Only really have a choice of k&n filters here tho, the cloth and mesh type, we dont really get the foam type filter you have in that pic.. is that a bad thing??

hahaha... i cant belive that all of you guys have this problem.. i just bought 172 and noticed the exact same thing is wrong with my bumper...wtf is refitting the bumper the only way to fix it?? is it a mission taking it off and refitting?

what are the chances of getting some of those stickers down to South Africa?? is there only one design?
