Does your bumper still hook over what's left?

Has anyone fully cut out their bumper brackets and retained a decent fitting bumper? My bumper has quick release clips on but I want the corners to sit correctly if I remove the brackets.

A comfy bed and decent shower just seemed like the better option after melting in the sun for 6 hours 😂
