Finished my rear wiper blank.....aka the original plastic surround, painted in satin black and a blanking grommet glued in place!
Looks a lot cleaner without the rear wiper I think. Good simple mod.
Next is the front bumper being painted. And currently investigating what coil overs to...
Turned the car on this morning and as it came into life there was like a turbo noise then went away. Didn't make it again all day, even when starting from cold after work at 4:30 this afternoon.
Any ideas?? I am going with that it was the cold air and cold engine not helping. Never heard that...
I'm about to top 160k miles and its still going strong, I've done 30k of those. I do maintain it though with regular services and it had its belts done last year. Car is in good nick, all but the front bumper which needs a re-paint. Engine is fantasic and still returns 40+mpg
Weekly clean today, but now it is raining, oh well I know it was clean at some point this week! The amount of cleaning and effort is paying off as it is now really easy to clean as the dirst isn't thick or stuck to the paint work.
Have noticed my front wheels are taking a battering and the...
Same problem on mine a while back. Two person job to open the bonnet as previously said, or I fasioned a piece of string to the release lever so I could pull it while lifting the bonnet. Fixed it when I took the latch off and cleaned it up with a bit of WD40 and then just repositioned it.
How have i not seen this before??! I want to get something to add more BBRRAAAAPPPP until I can afford throttle bodies and cams.
This maybe a stupid question...but.....will it work with sillicone hoses instead of the ally one? Or is there a reason to go for the ally? As I am not a fan of the...
Annoyling I had a thermostat to change yesterday and me and my step dad decided against it as it didn't look like it needed doing. Should have just done it!!!
Nope. Before and after I changed it, it was steady. Rose when you expected it too when stood still.
Before I changed it it read half way when up to temperature
Fitted a new temperature sensor yesterday as my gauge cut out when it got above half way. But then when it cooled below half way it would kick back in again.
Just drove 90mins down the M4 and this is how hot it got, is this normal?
I haven't got it hot yet, like stood in traffic for a while...
Followed me out of the turning for Grazley Green, up the A33 towards J11 M4 and then turned right to Thre Mile Cross / Spensers Wood.
In a 2004 (I think) Black 182, gave me a toot as you passed.
You have the exact same problem as me when mine went las month as I don't have a long enough socket, luckily I struggled for a week before I could get back to my parents. And I am also living near the university in Reading, just not a student!
I used a 3.3ohm resistor to turn my air bag light off when fitting my bucket seats.
Me being OCD would have done the reprogramming but then if you want to put the car back to standard then it is easier just to remove the resistor, thats what the thought process with mine were. Same with the...
How did the dip cope with wear and tear of daily life? As at that price I could so easily be tempted to do mine if it is durable enough to last a few years.
The finish and colour of yours is real nice, I do like it
That does look quite tidy tbh. Then just fit the bike rack to that? Presume it is simple fitting? Remove the rear bumper and bolts onto the subframe? Then somehow magic the electric together? (They are not my favourite thing to do!)
Just had a look at them and the edge of them does look quite coroded and not like the front, so I think this is the case and will fall apart before they need replacing! I think I read somewhere that it was 95% to the front, not sure how true that is.
Next time I am working on the rear I may...
Yeah I knew this, the calipers match my wheels if its been stood still over a wet weekend! But I am sure it is getting louder and takes longer for it to wear off.
Don't think they are binding, wheels are cold to touch after a long drive, fronts can get a little warm if driving around town with...
Had the car since October 2012 and it has covered ~20k miles since then. The rear discs and pads haven't been changed in this time. They were a bit grindy today when I set off to work after being stood for 2 days, as expected, but then by the time I did 4 miles they didnt make a noise. Is it...
My wheels aren't grey / black. However, mine is a stripped out track day car which does help they lairy colour of the wheels. If it had an interior and not been chanegd for track then I would have gone dark grey wheels or back to standard.
There could be a reason why the majority of Clios have...
Yes, I agree they can look gash. But need some functionality with my car!
hmmm....I think i will look more into roof racks. If I get one and start using it my opinion will change. I've used tow bar ones before on a friend's car and my step dad's VW T5 has one, and I think they are good.
How...
Yeah I have seen yours on the MTB thread. I have been tempted, just don't like the idea of it really. But I may have to if it is the only way of transporting a bike on the exterior. It's just me being picky reall, risk of dropping it down the side damaging the car really.
Is it illegal to tow...
