Had a delivery of the pitking quick release catches today. I'll be using these on my front bumper now it needs a bit of therapy for clearance.
First impressions on them are, WOW! They're seriously strong enough to use as bonnet catches!! Not only are they smaller than aerocatches, they won't...
Thanks mate. Yeah it's taken longer than I anticipated, but it's definitely nice to be almost at the finish line.
I did however manage to remember that I've still got my oil pressure/temp gauge to install still. That means fun times fighting the dash top past the roll cage. 🙈
Jobs fucked basically mate. You have to strip the box to replace the selector shaft seal and the cause of the leakage - the bushes.
There are no gaskets on the casing either. It's just sealant between the 2 casing halves.
Yes mate I have. That's a set of 300mm brackets and 295x28 discs on a rotor and bell setup. The calipers have been machined by 2.5mm to drop them down to suit the 295's.
You can fit 300mm scenic discs and the brembos, but you can't run any wheel weights as there's not enough clearance. There's...
Fill it with some silicone sealant mate. You don't need to blank them for any other reason than to stop the s**t getting in there. It doesn't actually do anything once the pipes are removed.
I'm not making any mate. I've not made any from the start, so I'll just wait and see what it does.
The kit *should* do 230hp, but anything over 200hp and I'll be happy tbh, as that's all I originally set out to aim for.
Thanks mate, although I'll struggle to have some pics with the bonnet open - it's got no hinges and it's secured with 4 aerocatches! Lol!
Cheers buddy! Yeah no problem. Providing it's not raining (and it's not gone away for mapping) I'll push it out on the drive for you to have a proper look in...
Yes mate. They're the new r888r as well.
I've gone with 16's for a couple of reasons tbh - the ability to run the brembos and 295's wasn't actually a deciding factor either tbh! Lol! They're more of an afterthought!
The decision was made to go for 16's as I've got the Megane 5th gear ratio, so...
Time for another little update. The dog is pretty much back to full health now, so I'm relaxed again!!
I got the call to say the superleggeras were done and ready for collection. I went to collect them yesterday evening, and to say I'm happy is an understatement!!
Today I managed to get the...
It all comes with experience mate. I used to race bikes at cadwell, so I know it very well.
I found that I could take various corners at the 'ring flat out because I had no brakes! Lol! Pressed the pedal for a confidence application and found out that they'd overheated and fucked off...
Do you know what oil he specifies/uses mate? It's better to use the oil the builder recommends so as to hopefully avoid any warranty issues.
My running in will be done over........................no wait, it's run........................that'll do. It's run in. Lol!
Caldwell is an awesome circuit mate - they don't call it the mini ring for nothing!! Coppice should be pretty much flat as well for reference mate.
