You could try adjusting the brake pedal switch. Iirc twist it off the pedal anticlockwise, pull out, try pulling the plunger out 1-2 clicks, refit, check the brake lights still come on, roadtest.

iirc oem rev is 6500, rst is 7500 and the 5k kick is smoothed out. As said above plug it in and it will say if it has been done.
