What's this cable?

Decided to take all the wiring out of the boot lid today and thread it through the outer skin of the shell to tidy it all up but found this cable and connector on both sides that's not actually doing anything...

Some sort of option?

Can I cut it off?

Just tape it up to the other one. Its hardly adding weight or taking up space

There was one tucked in behind each rear door card!! strange

Some models came with lights in the speaker grills.
Maybe it's a power supply for the grill lights on a 5 door model?

Rear seatbelt gubbins iirc, possibly pre-tensioners. Has been a while since mine was stripped back though.
