I think most people who buy crossovers etc. wouldn’t notice if they woke up without a f**king limb, let alone if their car is roadworthy/safe to drive.
Exactly this.
What gripes me is people selling cars saying “belts done” when they actually need doing. Or pricing it as if it’s 100% mint and actually it needs about a ground putting in. Seems so common with the Clios.
My preference tends to be a car that NEEDS the belt doing. Not only is it cheaper, but I can get it done somewhere I trust. Then I know it’s right!
I don’t even mind a tatty car. I want it to use. Just don’t try and sell shite for good car prices!
Probably right, tbf I bought one for f**k all a couple months ago as it needed belts and was tatty. I’m fine with tatty and needing belts, just not a non existent history and well overdue belts for £3995 OVNO
I’d even pay over the odds for a good one! But as I say, people want lol money for...
Maybe I’m just a miserable b*****d. Maybe it’s because I’m looking to buy my 2nd 182 in as many months... but the market for these cars is just full of bottom feeders.
Id like to preface this with the fact people selling them on here seem to be alright, messaged about a few recently and had...
On Thursday I took this to Bedford and it was incredible. Without pissing off half this forum, why do you even mess with these? Hilarious from factory and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Sadly, that evening a chap came to buy the car. I genuinely miss it already, but only a fool would turn down a...
I went to my first rally last year, Wales GB 2019. I have to say there is a LOT more emphasis on spectator safety than it might seem.
Before any cars go out on stage, they have several different course cars do runs of the stage. Both to check the stage for hazards (I imagine), but also to shout...
Still going.
Fresh plates all round, and a clean to get the old plate goo off. Trims all given a liberal amount of Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber care, allowing it to soak on there before being wiped. I find this not only cleans the plastic, but leaves them a nice deep black without being "over"...
Had a victory getting the stainless exhaust system on last week, so thought I'd contiue the good luck and tackle the wheels...
Auto paint in St. Helens mixed up a tin of the correct wheel colour, spent all weekend getting them sprayed. For a rattle can job it’s okay, but more importantly no...
Makes me want one of those MX5's, weirdly. BBR Super 225 kit is a good choice too.
The Clios alright I guess, does this mean you'll stop moaning about it ? ;)
Had Chris at Beaniesport do the belts today! So it’s slightly less likely to start throwing internal engine bits out.
Made a start in the exhaust this evening.Old one is off! Some comedy amount of washers fell on my head, sounded like a f**king winning fruit machine.
The blower fan is making quite a squeel at higher speeds! Sometimes hitting a bump shuts it up a bit, so I would assume theres a naff bearing in there somewhere. Easy to remove, strip down and fix or?
Before fitting I drilled some equally spaced pilot holes in the splitter to help me. I jacked one side of the car up, enough to get a drill under, and drilled through into the bumper. Then I jacked the other side and did the same. The self tappers then went in.
Thats how you do it in 30mins...
Guess I best start a proper thread for the 182 I bought last week.
I wanted some cheap fun for the summer, mostly for trackdays as the M2 is a bit to expensive to really enjoy on a track! 2 weeks prior I bought an MG ZT, then proceeded to track it and sell it for a profit. With that profit I...
I already have a trackday booked, was originally going to be taking this to Bedford after much success at donnington:

However, turns out I'd stolen that car and sold it nearly double what I paid. Hence hunting down a 182!
Yeah thats right. It was about 10 years ago I sold my first car, a 2009 Clio GT. I've wanted a little 172/182 ever since! Finally, I ran out of excuses not to buy one and....
It needs belts, a rear silencer and all 4 wheels refurbing for a start. It also has some dodgy bits of bodywork here...
Visiting Japan and being scared of radiation poisoning is a bit like visiting the UK and being scared of being trampled by a cow. The chance is never zero, but I wouldn’t let it stop you...
This is what me and my Mrs have done for several years.
We finally just had a blowout and doesn’t on business class lights and a nice hotel. Was amazing!
Oh and ANA are the greatest airline of all. Google “ANA The Room”. That was the seats we had for the flight over. Ryanair won’t be the same
Everyone has something interesting or fun to drive and really enjoys it, being into cars Or anything else for that matter isn’t seen as weird. It’s just celebrated. Love it.
My Mrs doesnt mind thankfully, managed to squeeze quite a bit of stuff I wanted to do with Cars and old videogames.
Fun2Drive were who I was going to go to, but I like to find my own route around places. Plus Omoren were cheaper and had more choice! haha.
The place where the Merc SLS photo...

Not that expensive! I've paid more to hire a van for 24hrs. I did the "overnight" deal where its from around 6pm to 11am the next day, looking at my statements it was like £205 after all the CDW etc. The Integra was MUCH cheaper, that was £93 for 24hrs!
Since I'm deciding to get active on these forums again, I thought I'd share some images from my Pre-Lockdown Trip to Japan. Given the catagory of forum I'm posting in, I guess its best to stick to the car themed stuff I managed to cram in the two weeks we were out there.
When I say pre...
Yeah this was the factor which pulled me toward Hock. It’s the only exclusive colour! I nearly went black.
I’m not actually a massive fan of the orange unless it’s clean.
As it’s a new car it’s not that bad. Servicing intervals are variable, so other than the run in service (ouch) you’re not...
