Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

Fair enough... I think one of the FIAT Puntos uses them as well... but yes point taken.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

Thanks Matt... that's £486 for 205x45x16 and I'm probably looking at £80 or so to get them fitted... so not far off £600 again.

Thanks so much for that... really helpful and really interesting.

    ... sorry a link for 205x45x16 rather than 195

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

OK, fair enough... but they're averaging £130-£150 fitted as opposed to £40 a pop for the Three-A... Can you give me the link to the above BTW I'm sure I'll end up with another set of PS3s anyway.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

May not always be the case... certainly wouldn't be here but then I've got two lever arch folders of genuine Renault parts and service invoices for my 3 owner 80K 182 going back to the original bill of sale... and a portfolio of photographic evidence for all the work I've undertaken.

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

My 182 is currently shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 3 all round and they're a very good tyre. Before I relieve myself of another circa £600 for a new set, I was just interested in getting the opinions of people who've used a set of these. There's an eBay seller whose sold 123 sets of these and I...

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

You're right, the site's not easy to navigate but the one for our car would be the P606. There's a link to it here. https://threeatires.com/product/three-a-p606-uhp-tires/

Three-A Tyres - thoughts of those who've actually used them

As most of us have discovered, the lack of cars running 205x45x16 has meant rubber in that size is pretty expensive across all of the main brands. I was just interested to see if anyone has fitted Three-A tyres and what they thought of them. I know we all have opinions on budget tyres but I'm...

    Timing belt change interval

40K miles is still a fair old amount... we're talking hundreds or low thousands of miles here though. In my case I've done 2500 miles since I changed them 4 years ago in 2020.

    Timing belt change interval

As @jameswrx mentioned above, the problem is more related to the aux belts than the timing belts. Aux belt failure will take out the timing belt. A guy who runs a business specialising in Clios made an FB post a while ago advocating replacing everything within date. When I quizzed him on the...

    Timing belt change interval

Like many of us on here now, I use my 182 sparingly. 3 years and just under 3000 miles ago I took the engine/transmission out of the car and replaced just about everything. Among the many items I replaced were all the belts. I used brand new genuine Renault ones. Now the change interval for...

    Changing Gearbox Oil

I'm planning on changing the gearbox oil in my 182. Just wondering if the gearbox oil drain plug is the same as the engine oil drain plug [link below] and if not, whether anyone would have the part number for the drain plug washer as I'd like to swap that while I'm at it. Massive thanks in...

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

My friend with the Snap On [Solus] came over this afternoon and unfortunately it won't communicate with the ABS module on the 182 :( It'll do a code read on the module but nothing more. So I guess I'm faced with having to get RS tuner... any recommendations on what should get from Fastchip. I...

Ah of course... that makes sense. Thanks so much. @hopgop1 So sorry I didn't thank you for posting the photo above... really appreciate it :)

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

Ya that is different to the Renault Workshop manual alright... it's RL->RR->FL->FR... Hopefully the Snap On has something similar as I'm guessing RS Tuner is organising the pump configuration as you're doing this.

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

Thanks for this Martin. Were you using the Autel when you ran through the 4L ? Is the RS Tuner sequence different ? Problem is I don't have Clip or RS Tuner... just access to my mate's Snap On. Also, when you talk about the RS Tuner Bleed Sequence... is there a process they suggest doing ?

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

Ya I bled all four corners... actually let run for a while until I could see the new fluid coming out... I'm guessing [hoping] that air's lodged in the ABS pump (!)

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

I'd feel more comfortable using a scanner to activate the ABS than have it running on axle stands o_O When you get the wrong side of 50 [like me] the mad stuff I used to do as a kid seems less appealling for some reason or other. Does anyone know if the Snap On will activate the ABS ? The...

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

@JamesBryan I can't rule out air getting into the pump as the rear brake line running across the beam split and quite a bit of fluid leaked from it. I did exactly as you said with the pressure bleeder but unfortunately I've ended up with a very soft pedal :( I can only assume air has gotten...

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

@SteveC_1879 Thanks for this. I think that's what it is. I've tried locking the wheels up several times on the test drive but don't I need to activate the pump while I'm bleeding the system ? I vaguely remember doing something like this on my E46 years ago when I bled the system but the Snap...

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

Thanks for this. So they bled it old-skool without a pressure bleeder ?
  26. Davyboy888

Advice on brake bleeding process for 182 [with ABS]

I've replaced the rear brake lines on my 182, bled the system with an air pump bleeder. I let fluid through until I had no air bubbles appearing at the caliper bleed nipples and clean fluid coming through. Buttoned everything up and took it for a test drive. The pedal is dangerously soft...

182 Gearbox selector shaft seal replacement

Thanks for this - kinda hoping I could do it without having to open the box :(

182 Gearbox selector shaft seal replacement

I've an oil leak from the selector shaft seal on the gearbox of my 182. I believe the part number is 8201048885 which I've ordered. I just wondered if anyone's had to replace their's and could give me any hints/tips ? Hope it's not a box out job ? Huge thanks in advance.

ULEZ extension and 182 Compliance ?

I've a 2003 E46 325i MSport as well, that's also listed as compliant too. It must be a parameter that's within Euro 4 that's enabling it to be compliant, possibly the NOX as that's one of the main things that will affect air quality... which is what this whole ULEZ thing is about, 'apparently' !

ULEZ extension and 182 Compliance ?

Has anyone regularly gone in/out of the ULEZ are since September 2022 as I believe that's when it was changed to Euro 4 for petrol cars ?
