I find its a good place to keep tyres without them getting in the way, we keep most of them in a big storage shed (we got dozens and dozens) but in the garage I keep normally 2 sets of dries, a set of inters and a set of wets, just so that we have them to hand all the time :)
Make sure you...
...my first sump gasket on mine today, what a game its been so far. Learn't a lot more about my car and took the opportunity to fit the vibratechnics I'd got sat in the garage. Least I'll know what to expect when we remove the engine from the Ph1 when I finally get a trailer!!

Cheers mate :) wasn't sure whether I would like the vibratechnics mounts but I actually do, definitely worthwhile.
Next I need some track wheels and tyres!
Small update.
The Sachs have been sent off to cornering force for refurbishing and powder coating, and I also picked up some vibratechnics engine mounts off a friend and got them fitted.

The car was at JKM's Rolling Road day today, made 172.7 bhp :) With the matched inlets and the centre silencer removed by my reckoning its gained 3-4 bhp over the SRR's first attempt of 169 bhp ! As for the 158 bhp I can only put it down to the car was too hot ? I really honestly don't think JKM...
Which ktec ones as they list two types. regular uprated and the "race" ones.
I'm running the standard uprated vibratechnics and there is a bit more vibration but not much really. Only really notice it when sat idling when the steering wheel shakes a bit more than normal.
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
I went from new standard mounts and a poly dogbone to the vibratechnics mounts and it's loads better. Not too stiff and no noticeable vibration either.
What ram pipes have you got in the fogs? I've tried a couple of different ones but none of them fit nicely.
I have vibratechnics engine mounts and to be honest I think they work great. They introduce a touch more vibration in to the car but I hardly notice it. Really tightened up the feel of the car. If fitted incorrectly though they can vibrate loads.
Its a 16mm head but I cant remember the thread size off hand sorry.
As DannyR mentions, the dogbone does tip the engine a bit too, but I was kind of assuming you already had that bolted on as well, if not then do so before you judge how the engine sits.
Cheers chip , i thought that was the case with the vibratechnic mount ! Do you know what the nut should be ? I cant find the it so was going to see what we have in work !
Yeah i was thinking that myself that its all lined up and bolted up so it must be correct but just looks in add with the...
...position and the upper engine mount is bolted up and i have also got the upper gearbox mount bolted up and bolted up.
I have fitted my vibratechnics upper engine mount i bought of here , i bolted the 4 bolts up and bolted the nut up at the top, the standard mount had a little metal piece...
I have Ktec/Vibratechnics upper engine and gearbox mounts and powerflex'd dogbone. A bit more vibration but perfectly livable and I use my car as a daily drive...
I'm running Vibratechnics mounts who I believe make the ones for KTR.
The only reason I installed them was as I was having a RS2 fitted, I do however like, them they stiffen everything up nicely. However they are a bit more intrusive with noise and vibration but not too much for me as I have a...
Full disclosure - I have Vibratechnics/Ktec engine mounts and Powerflex dogbone bushes in my 172 and with those it had a bit of increased vibration over the oem mounts but tbh not much (I was fairly careful with the installation :) )
Now, I did a trackday last month and the car was great...
Re: Tim's R26 Banana Boost Bus
Bit of an update.
It's just shy of 71k and 5 1/2 years old now so the cambelt is due in 1000 miles. I still haven't fixed the turbo and engine mainly due to a lack of time and availability of the rods and pistons. Trouble is we don't know if my engine will need...
...and ABS rings, the braided hoses and ATE blue fluid are being done too.
I think the gearbox mount has had it so fitting a Ktec/Vibratechnics mount. I got the engine mount too but I'm going to leave that for now as its not long had a new genuine Renault one fitted.
The AC is being removed...
I bought the complete mount package from Ktec and it worked out cheaper than Vibratechnics.
Remember the Vibratechnics prices on the website are excluding VAT.
So far after a day or so with the complete mount set there is a bit more vibration noise on the dash, nothing that turning the radio...
Whats there to say really, BigDave popped round Saturday morning as a mate of ours was fitting ktr/vibratechnics uprated engine + gearbox mounts and a powerflex dogbone so while they were doing that i cracked on with getting the sachs back on the trophy and fitting the sportlines, turned the...
...bit of money on it and it had a decent spec;
Cat cams
btb stealth
decat
182 manifold
Poly bush dog bone mount
itg filter
Daz added vibratechnics engine mount and spax rsx coilovers so the car so was already a good spec.
After a little negotiation we agreed a price and I picked up the car...
