    PMS shifter?

The pms linkage with bearings is as good as it gets for the jc5, hardly any play compared to the crap oem bushes. Add a set of vibratechnic engine/gearbox mounts and poly dogbone whilst doing it, once the engine is solid its bang on.

    VibraTechnics 172 Gearbox mount fitting

Bought a set of mounts from a member on here but unsure if it’s all there for the gearbox mount. Can see online that there appears to be another part but I don’t have it This is what I have A pic I found on the internet Also, which way does it go? On the Vibra website they don’t have...

    Car jerks on gear change

It depends what you mean by "jerk". With a responsive normally aspirated 2.0L firmly mounted engine, I`d be disappointed if I could not feel a punch when you get back on the power. As long as you cannot feel any movement in the gear lever on and off the throttle @5000 rpm in the 3rd gear, I...

    Car jerks on gear change

So my car has vibratechnic engine/gearbox mounts and an evol mount ( all less than a year old) and black series bushes everywhere else. For as long as I can remember the car seems to 'jerk' between upward gear changes. I tried pulling the engine forward a while back and this did seem to improve...

Engine mount, cambelt side. Changed, but feels worse than the old mount.

Mine with vibratechnics mounts fitted pretty much feels like oem when driving no extra vibration. All i basically done when fitting was leave mounts bolted up but loose, let engine idle for 5 mins to find its own sweet spot then torqued them up.

Engine mount, cambelt side. Changed, but feels worse than the old mount.

The vibratechnics mounts are alright to be fair, no massive vibration on idle etc on mine. Quite compliant compared to solid mounts which i have ran on other cars. New gearbox mount should sort it out though.

Engine mount, cambelt side. Changed, but feels worse than the old mount.

Ah great. I've a new one sitting but I just couldn't be arsed fitting it as it started to rain a bit. I'll get them swapped tonight or over the weekend and let you know how I get on. I was tempted by a second hand set of vibratechnic mounts but as its a road car I didn't want the dash to rattle...

Engine mount, cambelt side. Changed, but feels worse than the old mount.

Gearbox mount probably knackered when you remove it. Mine used to move a bit with powerflex dog bone and new top mount. Gearbox mount was shot when removed. Replaced both top mount and gearbox mount for vibratechnics. One of the best mods i have done to be fair

New clutch but have a judder pulling off

So just thought I’d update this as I finally had the time (motivation) to take a look at it. As mentioned, I had some vibratechnic engine and gearbox mounts to fit, which I fitted today and in doing so noticed a number of loose bolts (some were not even hand tight). Mounts fitted and all bolts...

7:30pm job done and absolutely knackered due to heat and lack of food. Looks ok though and free I had planned to collect a pair of ktec/vibratechnics mounts in Darlington so straight in the clio to get them after fitting dash ended up getting food at 10pm lol. My engine has a bit of a rock now...

New clutch but have a judder pulling off

Ok cheers, gonna be pricey then!! That would be a nice result if so. I have some vibratechnic mounts to fit so going to try those at the weekend and give it a spanner check.

Why do most people rave about polybush dog bones?

Vibratechnics use rubber instead of poly don't they?
  22. massivewangers

Why do most people rave about polybush dog bones?

I drove my Clio daily with Vibratechnics and a Powerflex black dogbone. BecauseHero. It was bloody awful in reality but, when I drive it now, I love how silly it feels.

    My Inferno Story...

Does your gearstick move when putting your foot down? I'm running a vibratechnic solid mount purely for the fact everything else is solid. I think gearbox wise OEM brand new can be decent. It's whether you take the punt and fit and forget solid. Your choice! I'd take a look at the polybushed...

The setup on mine is decent, although it is fully polybushed as well as having the Vibratechnics mounts however suspension wise it has Cup shocks and Cooksport springs. 7x15" wheel with a 195/50/15 tyre, I won't recommend anything as tyres are a personal preference I've found but spend as much...
