Excuse the bump but google brought me here. The thought has only just occurred to me that my track car wont have sun visors fitted - no roof mounting points & a cage are to blame for that - so was wondering about fitting a sunstrip to sort of counter that but I'm not sure where I stand legally...

Hmmmmmmmm dunno, I've only ever bought well used sets & did my 1st wet day at Oulton recently with them & I was quite impressed, better than I thought they'd be tbh, only had about 3mm tread on them. Admittedly it wasn't wet enough for there to be any standing water anywhere but I say this more...

Any part of the exhaust that's letting exhaust gas out other than the tip of the tail pipe is what a blowing exhaust is, there's also no noise limit for the MOT for you to worry about ;) There is technically a legal noise limit for a car on the road but the test to show if your car meets that...
