I've been silently watching the your thread for a little while. It's had more plot twists than Game of Thrones!!
Now for the happy ending 😂
Question is which pink car is getting modified first
Once a modder always a modder!! :ROFLMAO:
At least you have a roof. I've done sprinting in a open single seater. Waiting at the start while getting drenched is definitely not the fun bit.
A gazebo is worth every penny. Keeps you dry and makes you friends with everyone ?
Good luck for New Brighton. Watch them kerbs, they can do some serious damage. I'm hoping to get down for the Saturday as I'm working the Friday late. Though Saturday's weather is looking wet so I'll see.
I've seen a chap on the Irish Backroads forum start to fit a 172 manifold, which he extended the headers and managed to fit it but then went off the radar, so never actually saw the finished article.
Shame!!
Could the 172 or 182 manifold fit a Williams or is the anti roll bar in the way
If so can you retro fit the 172/182 anti roll bar setup to a Williams.
Would be a great mod as I believe the Williams manifold is really restrictive.
I agree. My sill I'm presently finishing off was bad at the ends but solid the rest of the way through. Looking back I would have been better repairing both ends and saved myself a whole lot of hassle.
It's a long way to seam weld which is what I did with standard mk1 sill which I cut. When I do the other side I'm using a standard mk1 sill upto the door and then cutting, possibly 4", off the bottom of the standard sill so I don't have the wider part problem
I'd love to in a lot of ways pay somebody to do mine as I so miss driving it.
I've driven a lot of nice fast cars but none were as fun as the Willy on some of the great roads in North Wales. I'm getting back into it again and am just about to tackle the inner wheel arch on the far side and the...
Looking forward to following this. Doing very similar restoration to my Williams 2.
With kids and moving house and other car projects mine has taken 9 Years and still loads to do.
The replacement sills you can get are for a standard mk1 and need to be modified to fit which is a pita. The sill...
Nah!!!
Mine would be proper boring to be honest.:disrelieved:
With having a couple of kids moving house, changing jobs, getting slightly side tracked with a civic type r and a racing I shared with father in law and vx220 turbo the clio has got a tax disc from 2007. Now all the other toys have...
Looks like some top work! !
Just doing up my Williams. Amazing how much rust you find once you start digging with a screwdriver.
I've already repaired the box section around the torsion bar mount and rear left wheel arch. I've repaired the inner sill and know fitting the outer sill. Also on the...
[QUOabout"Dan@SJM, post: 10781050, member: 15431"]I wouldn't have it any other way! 4wd does need to happen though
Have you thought about making into rear engined beast.
Bl**dy Hell that's anybodies worst nightmare. How the chuffin hell did the previous owner do that.
What tuning chip have you used.
Would be nice to give mine a light tune up when I get mine back on the road.
I know what you mean about character, although I've never driven a valver, my Williams always put a smile on my face, whether you were driving on the limit or pootling around
Wow quite a project you've taken on there!!
Where you getting the new panels from? There rare as rocking horse poo!
Have you thought about building it into valver/172 hybrid with the 172 engine suspension etc.
Whatever you do good luck:smiley:
That was an epic read!! The ups and downs of this thread I'm surprised you still have it. I two have my projectof nearly 8years (clio Williams) in my garage after house moving and kids and working long hours, I have promised myself this year to get the poor car fixed and get back to some of the...
Seriously impressed with your skills. I thought the Qashqui R was a monster but this betters it. Are you a mechanic. Perhaps you need to advertise your car more. I'm sure skills could be used in motor sport or other serious tuners.
Anyway can't wait for the first video with all the new ponies...
Naples and 172 lover , I'm really loving both your work it's giving me a kick up the arse to get on with mine although mines still at Naples stage.:hail:
Are they standard Mk1 rear arches. If so you might find it not so easy to fit. I couldn't find wide arches for my Williams and had to modify the rear arches which was a ball ache and that was on the near side . Not sure how easy it would be to fit with petrol filler
Wow really nice job. Just read the entire thread. Lot of nice work and commitment put in to this (and money).
Your Rustoration looks like where I am with my Williams. So love to have bodies on mine.
Only thing I would say it's a pity you didn't do the subframe and pipes in red think it...
