Knocking noise fixed!!
Shorter drive shaft fixed the issue - I’d narrowed it down to pretty much knowing this would sort it and it has thank god!
For anyone having the same issue I bought a 640mm driveshaft on eBay from Lithuania, brand was LOBRO. A bit difficult to find & took some searching...
Sorry I forgot to mention that I’ve tried this, got maybe 7-10mm maybe, better but still didn’t cure it
After scouring eBay today I’ve found a 640mm LOBRO one from Lithuania
I’ll report back when it’s on to hopefully close this thread out with a resolution 🤞
It’s been a minute / hoping to resurrect this thread - life & work has got in the way of this….
Checked the plunge on the passenger driveshaft and there was very little compared to the drivers side
I’ve whipped out the driveshaft today and it measures 650mm in length - I reckon I need a 640mm...
For anyone interested & to (hopefully) close off the none starting problem…
Contact cleaner and a little scrub of the relays in the fuse box & also the fuel pump electrical connector has done the trick seemingly!

Further update…
Crank sensor located, removed and cleaned and put back - still cranking but not firing 🤬
Worth buying a new one does anyone think? Do these just fail over time I’m guessing?

I’ve changed the relays around and this hasn’t worked
I’ve tried just leaving the negative off the battery for a bit to reset the ECU
I haven’t tried the white connector because it looks like a nightmare to access - may have to though…
I have a cheap code...

Yep cranking fine, just not firing - will get the white connector apart and give it a clean…. any tips on how to get it apart? Plastic clips / anything removable plastic are the devil on old cars I find 🙄
