Hi guys
This pipe has a hole in it:
I can't find one anywhere on the net. Does anyone know where to get one or even if it can be replaced? That looks like a weird joint to the tank.
Thanks
Hi guys
My 2004 182 has developed a loud chirp from front left corner.
Sounds like birds chirping or gym shoes squeaking on a floor. Seems to be timed with wheel rpm and mainly occurs during a left turn 30-60mph.
My first thoughts were: wheel/tyre/hub/bearing/brakes/suspension/ something...
OK guys looks like we have the answer.
In case it helps others:
- jacked car up safetly
- removed front wheels
- examined induction rings and sensors
- unplugged sensors from main loom
- put a standard DC Voltmeter over the female pins of sensors
Results:
FR: 0.76-0.9V depending wheel...
Will do today. Also planning to test if the sensors are producing a voltage. I read another managed to diagnose this way on the forum. Watch this space...
Hi guys, having a bit of a bad run with the clio at moment.
2004 182 model.
The following dash lights have come on similtaneously and have stayed on:
ABS
SERVICE
TCS?(the skiddy one)
Tried so far:
- checked 10A fuse in cabin and is fine.
- does not appear to be a 50A fuse in engine bay box...
Interesting you should say that. The last thing I did before it started working was to wiggle the big green copper earthing wire between the Gearbox and Chassis. I dismissed though under the thought of: how can an earth wire stop working?? As long as it's touch the thing it needs then if should...
Fixed! Whoop whoop! I get to keep Clio :)
I went into real detail analysing all car wiring and taking relays apart to check the coils etc. Everything looked fine. No joy.
Went back to basics and checked the immobiliser light, the light was staying red when trying to start it, Ah ha! Typical of...
Additional: Just attached the OBD 2 and got DTC codes:
P0141 (O2 sensor fault): due to Cat removal
P0443 (Fuel Purge Solenoid Fault): due to purge valve removal
I am 99.999% sure these DTCs will not start a car from running. Just to be sure I cleared the codes and car still doesn't start.
Hi guys
I am usually good at fixing things, but this has got me flumoxed!
The car is 182 54reg 78k miles, good condition.
I recently performed a Timing belt and Aux belt change(I am experienced at this). After that the car ran fine with no problems.
2 weeks later I gave the car a proper...
Hey guys
I removed my battery for a while, and now the radio requires a code when I try to turn it on.
Any idea how I can source this code please?
The car is a 2004 182.
Regards
Jon
Hi guys!
Long time no speak. I've been really busy in the last year and haven't had any time to think about the clio at all.
My OE exhaust finally rotted, so I fitted a K-Tek stainless exhaust(I think that was the name). All is now very well.
It came with a de-cat pipe, but I haven't...
Hey guys
Here is the timeline of problem:
- throttle pedal stopped working, car would not rev, went into limp mode and maintained 2-2.5k rpm.
- checked OBD2 to confirm problem. P0130 from memory, Throttle Position Sensor.
- removed old pedal & sensor for examination
- tried to start car with...
Hey guys just got back from garage. They block tested and no sign of exhaust gas in teh coolant so I am in the clear! Yipee!
I need to keep the same short journey routine so from now on my routine will include:
- a long drive at least twice a month
- extra regular oil changes(i am guessing...
That's interesting Fraser.
It has ONLY done short journeys. Literraly only half a dozen journeys have been over 2 miles. It never gets up to temp, naughty I know.
I don't quite follow you - is the beather the pipe coming out of the rear of the cam cover? Not sure why thati relavant.
Can you...
Hey Dan
- from memory the T/stat housing is on the side of the head BUT I never removed that assembly from the head so no scope for error there. I removed the rubber water pipes from the assembly but no scope for error there either really.
- no not genuine HG, I forgot the make but Andy @...
just looking through the filler hole it looks perfect. Dark amber - 6 month old oil with few miles, just like it should I guess.
Just for general info purposes - are there any ways that the oil and water can mix other than the following?
- HG-related problem
- cracked head
- cracked block
I'm...
Understood - I'll research this now. Thanks
Hi. well I'm pretty OCD and I followed the workshop manual to the letter, with the torquing, angular torquing and sequencing. So I guess its pos that I made a mistake, but I 99.9% sure.
Hey guys! Me again.
Just a quick catch up. I bought a 2004 Clio182 this summer. Immediately the cambelt failed and I had to do a top end re-build. Here is the thread:
http://www.cliosport.net/threads/please-help-with-engine-issue-182-2004.776949/
Since then the car has been perfect for 6...
OK been under the clio. The offending heat shield was the rear one. It had failed at all of the mount points and was just sitting on the exhaust. So I ripped it off.
While under there I noticed a couple of un-desirables:
- rear exhaust mounts have failed. They look crap and weak, so gunna see...
I'm on it.
Yup - I was worried that the clio forum was going to be a bunch of youngsters talking in 'ghetto talk or whatever its called, and no real info - but I couldn't have been more wrong. Very useful place.
Stereo working now - thanks to Dan@SJM
OK, just sorting some more things on my snag list, can I get some opinions on the following please?
1) a heat shield at the rear is rattling about and needs re-fixing or removing. I've never had a car with a rear axle like the Clio. I am not sure where to...
