You're spoilt for choice these days, these are a few of my favourites:
SimpleWax Suds
Adam's (the normal blue one)
Bilt Hamber Auto Wash
Wax Planet Lava
CarPro Reset
The SimpleWax and Adam's offerings are excellent when the sun is out, as mentioned they don't seem residue marks when dried on...
Hi guys, I've recently acquired a 2007 Clio 197 and the car is great, apart from the steering.
The steering feels like it is constantly twitching and fighting whether to pull left or right along the road, and when at low speeds or at idle and the steering wheel is turned, it often makes some...
So it basically makes the slimline fan kick in at temp as the original would with the original wiring etc?
Would be ideal as it means I wouldn't have to worry and keep a constant eye on the temperature gauge to see if and when I need to put the switch on..!
How do I go about purchasing from...
Ah I see, the old rad had like a blanking plug halfway down the side but this one had a sensor stuck in with the 2 prong plug sticking out, is that it do you think?
So I would have to buy all the wiring myself?
Did it work ok when you had it in your car?
Ah and where would I get the rubber...
What do you mean by 'fan switch in the rad'?
Where does the KenLowe bulb go in the coolant line mate? How does it all wire up/work?
I'd definitely be interested if it all worked for your car, what would you want for it?
I have no idea why the fan wiring was removed or why it wasn't put in in...
Is that a plug and play unit? Working off of the existing thermostat sensor thing?
Stupidly there was a 1.4 rad still fitted with no fan at all, so I changed it to a 172 rad with fan, but found the fan wouldn't come on at all when I was bleeding the new rad, then when I checked the fuses I saw...
Hi guys,
I'm wanting to wire a slimline fan to my radiator and am looking for some help/advice.
Basically the car was originally a 1.4 and was converted by KTEC to a 172 lump, the only thing is there is the plugs for the original fan but the relay box and fuse box in the spaces where the fan...
Will do mate, thanks.
Also, is it normal for my gearstick to go off to the right (towards the drivers side) when in gear?
Whilst in 3rd gear it looks and feels as if I'm going into 5th etc lol :S
Is there a kit or set of things I can replace to tighten up the gearstick/gear change?
It feels a bit loose and when in gear it's got lots of movement from side to side.
Cheers.
Hi guys,
Looking for some information on how to clean my ph1 fuel rail and injectors?
There's a small build up on there and some dust/dirt particles from where it's been stored.
Also, is there a guide anywhere on how to swap out a ph1 fuel rail including injectors?
Cheers.
Hi guys,
My 172 is running very lumpy and stuttery and has a flashing engine management light.
Plugged into an OBC reader it's firing up the code P0300 Random/Multiple Engine Misfire, with the following data freezeframe:
FUELSYS1: CL
FUELSYS2: N/A
LOAD_PCT(%): 0.0
ETC(°F): 100
SHRTFT1(%): 99.2...
Figured out the fan issue.
Going by a fuse box and relay diagram off of this forum, my Clio doesn't have the fuse nor the relay for the standard fan... Nor does it have any wiring going to into the blocks to fit a fuse or relay, they'd just be slotted into the plastic block holder thing...
Could...
I'll try it later, I'll start the car and open the bleed valve again and keep an eye on the coolant level, see if anything better happens!
Thanks for all your help Dan.
I waited for about 50 minutes and the fan just never kicked in, the temp got to halfway, the thermostat opened (the top rad hose went from cold to hot) but no fan came on. The coolant tank level just kept rising and rising ever so slowly until it got to the level in the above picture.
Are you...
The one on top of the thermostat?
Not since the above step about opening it and waiting for the steady flow of coolant to stream out and screwing it back in.
There's also a plastic bleed screw on the top left of the radiator, that have anything to do with it?
The temp gauge never went above halfway, but the coolant just kept rising and rising in the bottle, what if when out and about it rose to the top? Would it burst the lid off/piss everywhere? Or not a likely scenario?
Thermostat works (I think), the upper hose was cold until the car hit half temp and then the upper hose got hot.
Well when I did the above bleeding steps, when I did the step that involved idling it for 4 minutes with the cap off and topping it up, it barely bubbled/went down at all..? :/
I wouldn't know tbh, the kiddy that sold the car to me gave me the fan and said it just needs the rad, so I assumed it did... Any way to check if it works?
P.S. yes it looks secondhand.
