This is an awesome read from start to finish!! Ive gone the opposite direction to you and i started with the floor and rear end and now just pulling the engine and box out to do the engine bay etc
Its taking a while but will be worth it in the end and need to update my thread on here tbh its...
That's it, the floor has all been done in Hammerite Hammered Silver and the 95% of the rest is either powder coated or brand new! The other 5% is the odd bolt that's had a lick of black and sensors that have been cleaned and reused
Was really satisfying to out back together and looking forward...
Thought I'd post a bit of an update
Rear end all back together barring the discs and pads. All new brake lines, new shocks , sensors and handbrake cables re-attached aswel plus some purple bushes for good measure on the axel and upper shock mounts
Just need to fit the discs and pads and final...
Few more pics
Gonna be fun putting it all back together anyway
Still looking for a few other bits to complete it and probably need some advice on the way also from you guys
Been a good while since i updated this but made some progress anyway!
Floor is done now and pretty much going to put the rear back together this week
Lots of bits and pieces to fit and then its onto the front end, subframe off etc etc
Its a 172 Sports Stealth exhaust with the silenced centre section, not too loud or droney!
I had the Supersport fitted before this and it made your ears bleed!!!
Ive got a K-Tec with decat for sale if anyone is interested £200 for both, PM me if interested. I havnt advertised on here yet as need to get some better pics but have 1 can send to anyone interested for now
Bit more tonight...
Tank off, easy job to do and all the bolts came off relatively easy too.
Nice and tidy behind and luckily the only rust to really speak of is just surface rust behind the rear axel hinges/brackets which is easily sorted
Speaking of which collected the rear axel today and...
Keep at it mate it will be worth it in the end! Aslong as the mounting for the rear axel is solid and you can treat it before refitting then keep on with it?
Theres great satisfaction when you see it start coming together
Wish I had the proper space and money to do what you've done there! Looks awesome! Hopefully mine will look almost as good :D
After taking everything back ive used 2 coats of Hammerite Hammered (didn't want a smooth silver finish)
Had the same done with the rear axel which I need to collect...
Tbh slow only because I've alot on at the minute but soon to change that so will be cracking on!
Done one of the rear arches this week as I'm working from back to front
Rubbed the arch down etc (forgot to take proper pics of it all rubbed down but u get the idea) and 2 coats of Hammerite...
Keeping my eye out for the bushes on here and the bay etc as and when i see them, already got the top mounts
Painted a small patch on the passenger arch in silver and can already tell its going to tranform the car!
The 6 bolts on the rear beam... 3 straight off no problem the other 3 though...
Just started to do a resto on the underside of the 172, basicaslly just want to make it as nice on the underside as the outside
Going to work from the back to the front and have already got the rear beam off and all the suspension etc
Already purchased new oem brake lines, standard exhaust...
Tbh I wasn't looking to buy but to see how good it was to the one I have, as I'd like to have a good example as poss to keep for a good while but looks like mines a mile better than this one lol!! It was the miles that made me think about looking at it really
Tbh the garage has a shocking...

Anyone have any info on this Cup?
Seems well priced for the miles and has the Cliosport stickers all the over the windows
Its local to me so...
I think my secondary Laserline immobiliser has had it!? Its the one with little fob that's used to disarm it before starting the car
The fob isn't recognised anymore (since the battery died as I left the car too long in storage)
Car turns over, locks unlocks with keys etc etc
Is it easy enough...
Fitted the new refurbed turinis and tyres last weekend
Love the look they give as they seem to sit out a little bit wider than the standard alloys
Havnt even been able to take it out for a drive yet, out of the garage to fit and back in as i was really busy :(
Really happy with the finish though...
Is the sump gasket easy enough to get to re-seal on a 172?
Is there a certain torque setting and will the standard OE Renault rubber seal be ok to use?
Any info would be much appreciated
Cheers Everyone
