Sump gasket replacement 172

Car  172
Is the sump gasket easy enough to get to re-seal on a 172?

Is there a certain torque setting and will the standard OE Renault rubber seal be ok to use?

Any info would be much appreciated

Cheers Everyone

Some of the sump bolts may want to round, so you may want some spare.

There is a torque setting yes and also a particular order to do them in.

Some people fit ARP rod bolts while the sump is off too.

Here's the info from the repair manual

Main problem you will have is getting the sumps bolts out on the drivers side between subframe and sump - there is no room so you have to remove drivers top engine mount and dogbone mount and jack up the engine (block of wood under the sump) as far as possible and then chock it at the top engine mount area so you can remove the jack and work on the sump.

Also you will need a star shaped socket piece and yes some bolts may round off so be careful - I replaced mine with m7 15mm bolts.

The bolts between the gearbox and the engine I found were the worst to remove. You need a Torx socket (E8 I think).
