    OK, thanks for that.

    new front pads

I ordered some new genuine front pads online which I have just received. It looks like the package had already been opened as there were only 2 caliper pin bolts in the plastic bag. Should there be a wear sensor lead connected to one pad only? I haven't tried to fit them yet so don't know...

    Fitting new renault rear bushes

I did some reading on polybushes last night and it appears that some differ from the OEM in that the inner sleeve can rotate within the bush rather than it being bonded. In posts on various forums I read, some people indicated a rotating sleeve could get dirt in it and wear, and that the...

    Fitting new renault rear bushes

Thanks for the link @Big_Steve_T . I've just had a look at your 182 restoration post - very nice work! I derusted and painted up my rear beam. I'm very pleased with it but it did take an age and I think your powder coated does look better. So next time it will be powder coating and poly bushes!

    Fitting new renault rear bushes

    Fitting new renault rear bushes

I'm doing a rear beam refurb and have new renault bushes to fit. The new ones have a different bolt hole diameter to the originals, or rather for part way through. Hopefully the photos will explain what I mean with the new bush on the left. Do these new bushes just fit straight in does anyone...

    spare bolt in cambelt kit

Many thanks James. I thought probably either would do.

    spare bolt in cambelt kit

Thanks again. One other question if you don't mind.. I bought a new crank bolt from Renault yesterday. They said 2 are listed for the car, but my car being an '03 model year was showing the longer bolt (52mm). I went home and checked the bolt that actually came off my car, and it was the...

    spare bolt in cambelt kit

Last belt service was done by a Renault main dealer apparently Do you know why the kit only includes the one replacement pulley bolt and not the other? Below is how I found the cam timing...would the slight amount it is out account to much? Belt has been in the car for 5 years

    spare bolt in cambelt kit

Anyone know what the spare bolt and spacer is for in the cambelt kit (part no R13 0C 121 31R)? The new bolt and spacer is shown on the right in the photos below I assume they are for the ribbed pulley but the bolt is longer than the one already fitted to the car. Perhaps this new bolt is an...

    loose aircon condenser/radiator

    Thanks...yes that's an idea

    loose aircon condenser/radiator

Today I took the bumper off my 172 and the aircon condenser was only "loosely" attached to the radiator. It seems there are 4 bolts holding the condenser to the radiator, but 3 of these were ineffective because the mounting points on the radiator had completely corroded through. Is this a...

    track rod ends

Thanks for the photo. I actually bought both Lemforder track rod ends yesterday (LH and RH) so at least I would have the correct one. The Lemforder TREs are also marked "I" and "II" as the Renault ones above. Therefore it seems the "II" goes on the LHS. This would match the cross referenced...

    track rod ends

I bought a Lemforder right hand track rod end for my 172 today from GSF. The track rod ends are handed and it appears that my car might have had the track rod ends on the wrong way round (ie the LH on the drivers side and the RH on the passenger side). Does anyone know if this is possible...
