The steering angle sensor is moving when I turn the wheel so I’m guessing it’s got the tabs, I will have another go at removing on Monday, just need to have my Weetabix in the morning. ?
Cheers
I’m not sure to be honest it was already on the car. The indication for the steering angle sensor is showing blue, any idea on how to check if it’s the correct boss?
I’m trying to reset the steering angle sensor due to tc light on the dash but can’t remove the omp boss, I’ve undone the nut and refitted the steering wheel but after 30 minutes of hard tugging it won’t budge. Usually a good hard tug leaves a happy face and a messy tissue but in this case the...
Cheers, the sunstrip comes down 18cm I will be staying the same width with the new one.
Yes it’s a lovely stretch, rarely see a car when I’ve been, always going the opposite direction too which is a bonus. The sheep on the other hand are bloody suicidal. ?
Thanks Louis, it’s getting there now. I wasn’t 100% sold on the sunstrip at first but I’ve not got a choice but to have one since ditching the sun visors. I’m going to be getting a new one made up soon it will be staying black though. ?
Unfortunately the booster seat for my eldest lad didn’t arrive in time for the North Wales trip so I had to leave the Clio at home.
My favourite local route around the Peaks is closed in part at the moment for major road works however the Cat and Fiddle is still open so I took the Clio to the...
The Clio is back together again and I managed to get a few miles behind the wheel today, the weight removals made a significant difference to the way that the car gets down a road, it’s raw, agile and absolutely brilliant.
It’s looking a lot tidier now.
I also got the Federal’s fitted...
The painting is now complete, the seats and harnesses need to be fitted but the Clio is taking shape.
New rear brake pads have also been fitted.
Just needs new brake and power steering fluid along with getting the RSR’s fitted and it will be ready for another track day.
I’ve got a list of...
The plan for today was to replace the front discs however after a quick look over them they are in perfectly good order, they should be fit for a few more track days and the occasional hoon yet.
I gave the calipers a clean up and a coat of black paint while I had the wheels off.
The...
It’s been a busy couple of days on the Clio with me having a few hours free in between parent duties. I’ve began to tackle the sound deadening with a heat gun and scraper, most of this is now removed.
The interior is looking a bit of a mess at present but I should be in a position to start...
I took the Clio for a run out over some local B roads, removing the interior’s definitely made a difference to the way that it picks up. It feels lighter on it’s toes and it’s even more willing to change direction than it already was.
A parcel arrived yesterday from Kam Racing, brilliant...
They are good in ways but annoying in others, the engine and gearbox are great but the chassis, steering and control weights are far better on the Clio in my opinion. My EP3 was quite highly speccd but they just don’t have the character of the Clio’s.
Cheers, the car is fairly tidy to be honest, I’ve got PBS in the front and Yellowstuff at the rear and the fluid was bubbling over quite badly at Oulton, the pedal is practically useless now but I’m unsure of what fluid is in at the moment.
Thanks, it’s the BMS shifter I’m finding it decent...
I’ve started to remove the remaining interior, well it’s practically all gone now just need to tackle the sound deadening. The cage will be coming out and the inside of the car will be painted a light grey and the cage will be getting a coat of black.
I’m not a fan of the steering wheel so...
Yes it certainly doesn’t help, going to swap to some RBF600 and see how it goes, the power steering fluid also got rather hot so I will be upgrading that too.
I ran the PBS pads in the Civic and they never let me down, they work better in the Clio in my opinion given the weight advantage. Really strong in the morning until I boiled the fluid and the pedal went soft.
After destroying the PS3’s I was undecided on what to replace them with, I’ve ran AD08’s for the last few years religiously on my fun cars and I really can’t fault them as an all rounder but these came up cheap and I’ve heard good things.
Then the car wouldn’t start, tried jumping it, tried...
I’ve never driven a car so hard in all my life, grip levels from the PS3’s were poor in the temperatures but my god can these little cars make you smile. The gearing in the Clio is somewhat longer than my previous EP3 so it took a session to adjust to the new car but I soon found my groove...
First job was to order a new set of pads, Yellowstuff are fine for the road but with a track day closing in they just weren’t going to cut it.
Second job was to remove a nasty looking Renaultsport badge from the boot.
With the pads fitted and the car looking clean I gave the fluid levels a...
Figured I’d better start a new build thread as the new Black Gold 182 is starting to cost me money, gather pace. ?
I picked the car up a few weeks ago after missing out on a FK2 Civic Type R due to gearbox issues and an absolutely atrocious Honda dealership, it’s put me off for life. Instead of...
I wouldn’t pay too much attention to my lines if I were you, it was only my third track day at Oulton. ?
Lodge is a tricky corner to get right here’s a short clip from my first day there getting it wrong. ?
I was at Oulton on Tuesday in this.
Was a good day all round really, it was my first trackday in the Clio I just wish I had time to put some better tyres on beforehand as PS3’s really weren’t up to the job.
Shame about the silver one that rolled.
cliosport.net some great information especially the guide's section. I picked up some
Here's mine, still requires a bit of a tidy up but they are great cars, can't ever see me parting with it.
