Metallic Screech on full lock - Crank Pulley??

Mine has been "temporarily fixed" since it must have freed itself up since 1st Feb. All is running well now. Not a sound for two and a half months. If yours (or mine) goes back to sticking, it would suggest that it would just mean the screeching would come back (i may be wrong here) and then...

Metallic Screech on full lock - Crank Pulley??

Interesting. Mines been silent since it had a real "hard time" on zero car duties, and I strongly suspect the tensioner as all else has been checked. You can't really check a stiff or sticking tensioner. All the above stories also make sense as to the screeching belt and "stopping" PAS pump...

Metallic Screech on full lock - Crank Pulley??

Mine was doing this. Same screech noise and you could see the PAS pump momentarily stopping with the noise. Noticed this after changing the lower crank pulley for the Pure Motorsports version and a new belt (money lost now). It was still screeching and had to do an event where used lots of full...

New joiner - Clio 182 buying advice

Habitually ragged at some point. Too much wear around the ESP off switch

Genuine Renault or aftermarket coil springs?

Eibach Prolines replaced my 182 Cup springs. Slightly lower now but just right IMO

    Halfords socket sets

My stuff working well for the money. If you have no real kit, get by somehow until the half price big kit comes up again. That's why you see so many new items on Ebay, broken up kits, bought on a deal.

    Eibach Pro or Sportlines

I have Prolines now, coming from 182 cup springs. About an inch drop and Prolines are progessive rate, so its not as low as Sportline images above but lower than cup 182. As said above, the bigger quoted drops are for ordinary Clios. I find them great and still clears any speed cushions/bumps...

Loud clunk on full lock - Top mounts

Ideally when loaded as you say, but it won't make a big difference, so don't worry just check it

Loud clunk on full lock - Top mounts

I would first spanner check the recently changed parts, especially the wishbones and ARB mounts. These can work a little loose and shift. Happened to mine. Had a random clunk on full left lock. Tightened the one wishbone and sorted.

    OV04XPZ - Time to ask

I can't figure out why it was taken off, but I'm guessing that it wouldn't fit back on and the PO didn't figure out to move or replace the other tired and sagging mounts, so "adjusted" it. Unless anyone knows why someone would do this?

    OV04XPZ - Time to ask

It's the standard bush from the lower engine mount (dog bone). Notice that the hole has been plugged with aluminium and re-drilled off-centre! A neat job and an effort and I think I know why or secret tweak. Hence the question if anyone knew the car.

    Fog lamp bulbs

I put LED ones in the fog lights to have a whiter light than tungsten, as I do use them in fog. But as I have now learnt LEDs themselves aren't in the correct position for the reflectors so the beam pattern was shocking! This is why you shouldn't fit LEDs to anything that needs a beam pattern...

    OV04XPZ - Time to ask

Thanks. I had been through the MOT history pages. It's more about anyone who owned or knew the car. Although pretty much a road car there were some interesting bits like this........ When you recognise it, try and figure why do this to it!

    Rear springs

Those are standard springs for ordinary Clios. They'll fit a 182 but they are not the right rate/height. I do have a pair of standard ordinary Clio rear springs free to collector that are only a few years in use if that's what you're after.

    OV04XPZ - Time to ask

I've had OV04XPZ for two years now, and enjoying it. It's clearly had some past/owners, so now I'm curious. The guy I bought it from was a owner for a few months only and maybe couldn't keep her in the manner she demands. So does anyone know any history on my current 182 FF in titanium?

    Does anyone know this car?

Not too dissimilar to mine. Looks like the front has been off (radiator change?) It won't be a show car, but its what you want to do with it. If it burns no oil, pulls well and the gears all go in OK and no knocks and if no lights on the dash, just enjoy driving it (after the ubiquitous £1k you...

Uprated poly exhaust mounts - how many interested?

Also, exhaust appears very firmly mounted now and used them with the hole uppermost (more clearance and no knocking)

Uprated poly exhaust mounts - how many interested?

I had Vibratech eng+gbox mounts already, but these don't give much NVH like some others claim. Fitting these exhaust mounts gave me no real noticeable increase that I could detect from the back (I do have full interior fitted). Very happy with them from the worn out standard ones with some old...

Uprated poly exhaust mounts - how many interested?

No suggestions for improvement, but i've had two fitted to a 182 Milltek system. Firm push fit in the holes and now done several what are "12 cars" (bit like road rally) with a good bit of throwing around and they are still in there like new. I did fit four cable ties, but this seems more to...

Clio 182 cam belt side sound deadening loose

Removed mine when I found it saggy. You can't really see this easily. It had a large established wear mark on it from the pulley it was touching! It's only sound deadening if your other guards are good. Cue loads of people checking......

Engine mount, cambelt side. Changed, but feels worse than the old mount.

New Vibratechincs engine and gearbox mount. Polybushed dogbone and new Febi lower gearbox mount. Feels fine at anything above the lumpy idle, and on idle the wheel vibrates but not too annoying. Same as above, let the engine find it "level" and bolt tight.

Bosch VS Renault rear abs sensor

I got the Triscan 818025205 part from Germany from Heck. Under a Dacia part number which was the same as the Renault part number. Works just fine for eight months now.

    Air con pipe replacement

Use some of the oil that comes out of the pipes/system to lube up the new orings so they slip in and don't pinch/snag and leak!

    Air con pipe replacement

Just replaced that pipe on mine. Garage damaged the pipe whilst replacing the rad and condenser whilst doing the belts as they looked like the corroded horror above. They had JB welded it and then it leaked. Bumper comes off easy, follow a guide on here or YouTube. Unbolt slam panel (easy)...

Turinis on a non cup 182

So why is it that the Trophy apparently has the narrower track? With ET45 as opposed to ET43 standard and the Cup the "widest" at ET38? Would have the standard 1x2 with narrower track up to the Trophy widest?

Two here if price is right and they do stay fixed in place by their shape/tabs.

Used M&N in Stonehouse. They run a couple of track cars. Sorted mine out after a place in Cheltenham cocked the belts up.

    Steering wheel

I think you mean suede covering. Really this type of covering is when you have racing gloves for precision grip. Else it takes up all the palm grease and gets shiny. Flat / perforated leather for bare hands.
