possible, but the temp sensor is conected to the pressure sensor in some way isnt it? so if the temps working (which it is) then the pressure should work shouldnt it?
what does it mean when the oil pressure dial doesnt move?
im pretty sure its working because it moves a slight bit sometimes (i mean like 1 notch) but surley thats not right?

i reckon i get away with paying under £675 for this car ive seen, where as all the other are like £1000 + for something that has 85k + mileage.
it does have the V5 just not the log book. i had it...
i wouldnt say its a chavs car ( i hate chavs!! ), he sounds all right the lad when i've spoken to him on the fone its just the fact that this valver is in my price range and its got low mileage.
i've found a valver for sale locally(ish) and would just like everyone else's opinion on it.
its a mk1 J reg (91), blue, 66k on the clock, no log book, only mods are some neon’s underneath (those are coming straight off though! :) ), a pipercross kit on the engine and a momo steering wheel...

is there anything else i should be looking out for?
is it better to have an older car (say 91/92ish) but with lower milage (lets say under 80k?) or a newer car (95 onwards?) but with higher milage (90k onwards)?

as some of u know i've blown my head gasket and now steam pours out my exhaust. :( the engine is a 1.4e (j reg rt) and has done about 87k(ish)

ive been quoted £200 off a mech friend of mine to have a new head gasket, head skimmed (i think it was that) new fan belt & new timing belt all fitted + oil change & wanter/anti freeze done.
does that sound ok?

u cant miss it mate, its a big square thing in the middle of the exhaust system in the middle of the car
it may have a kind of mesh heat shield over it (mine was rusted away in the middle :D )
thanks TF, the only reason i lost sight of everyone is because of the amount of steam it was blowing. im 99% sure it was steam.
also, dont know if it makes any diff, but it has had a slow oil leak from somewhere in the engine for the past 6 months or so, every morning there's a few more...

to be honest, it never runs over 1/4 way on the gauge, its got an open pipper cross with a cold feed straight to it.
i never get any hot air anymore :(
