I bought mine for £1500 last year and have ploughed around £6-7k into it. Every time it went on track I wanted it to be fast than last time. Ended up with a cracking track car mind you....and now it's for sale ?
If your happy with a cheap toy and not fussed about improving every time I don't...
Opie I expect. Your right, shame you can't get 5l and an additional 1l.
I have been thinking about an oil cooler, will also look into getting some temp and pressure gauges as well
Hi and thanks for the reply.
No I do not have an oil temp or pressure gauge so no way to tell. Would it be a case that it's only going to be of a benefit to run 10w50 on such a hot day and with the extra bit of power. I'm very hard on the car while on track but will only be doing 15 minute...
Just to bring this post back to life....
I have been using Fuchs 5w40 as above and all good. I now have throttle bodies on my car and planning to do Castle Combe next Saturday. With the weather set to be nearing 30 degrees do you think the 10w50 may now be a sensible choice?
Thanks in advance
Also what's your build, do you have cams, different injectors? Mine's a standard engine with scorpion exhaust and decat. Wondering what kind of power I will be able to make, 195-200bhp realistic?
I too plan to put a spring on my pedal as well.
No it's defiantly not too tight I've loosened it off and even if I disconnect the throttle cable it still does the same thing ?
I need to get the gen90 tuner lite to check the tps, could that have something to do with it?
What does your tick over...
Hi all,
I have just put ktec itb's on my 182. It's the full kit with gen 90 and all the other bits. It was installed a couple of weeks ago and started perfect, balanced the bodies with a syncrometer and it's all running well. It's a used kit by the way but very good condition, looks like new...
No nothing like that, not even had it on track yet. Just prepping it ready Nd want go do another oil change before my first one in this car. So 10w50 would be needed but at the same time no downsides if it's always allowed to warm up well first
As above. Standard engine. Would there be any benefit in using the 10w50 over their 5w40. Will be giving the engine a lot of stick on track and only road driving it will do is to and from the track.
Thanks
I've fitted my fronts and they look nice and neat. Want to fit the rears this weekend, have the windows removed and have clear rear quarter lexan without a black boarder (wish I'd got them with black boarder).
I want to fit them as neatly as possible. I don't want to see black sealant as it...
Agreed, I've just had some limo tint put on the inside of my 182 that's going to be used for track only. I've stripped all the headlining and sun visors so need a sun strip. Looks less tacky and you can still see traffic lights through it.
Cool Ok, so do I have the 5mm ring in the picture. If i do I may try and fit with the ring I have in the picture and see how high it sits. Hopefully won't need the 10mm. May even need no ring as you Alex_. I dont want it on the floor but want a good drop, everythings gutted so hopefully it will...
Hi all need to fit some bc coilovers this weekend to my track project. Fine with the fronts but how do I adjust the ride height with this lot on the rear? It's heavily stripped and sitting really high on 30mm h&r springs currently so need a good drop.
I'm up for meeting up, how do I find out where and when the meets will be?
Just used my eyes and read the post properly. I'll try and make the Saltash meet
No not a huge priority however I want it to be able to take a bit of abuse on track. I enjoy working on cars just as much as racing them so have that to my advantage lol. It's solely going to be a track car and not needed for anything else.
What's a realistic achievable bhp figure on itb's with...
Yeah I have been thinking about this but it will have to be the 230 kit as can't afford the 280 kit new. Think about bodies now but that's a lot of cash for not a lot of gain
Looking for some coilovers next year but just want to know if I should buy 50mm lowering springs for the rear to bring it down to a good height for the track. I could have a party in my rear arch there's so much room with the 30mm h&r. Not a fan of the slammed look but mines too high. Fronts ok...
I
Know it all sounds very fishy, I asked and he just said he was going to have to refund me.....left it at that! Was a big risk without seeing it anyway so maybe it wasn't meant to be!
Hi All.
I am getting my car ready for the track. Will on my be used on track so not fussed about ride comfort.
Anyone recommend a spring drop for the rear when stripped. It's on H&R 30mm all round and sitting very high on the rear. Don't see how 40mm springs will make enough difference. Will...
Right.....the chap I was buying the Engine off of messaged me to say he has been to his friends unit and can't find all the parts 🙈 gutted!!!
So I'm back to square 1. Still have a good standard lump but if anyone knows of a turbo conversion/throttle body kit met me know.
Thanks for all...
