    How much %age increase!

I had the renewal through for r lasses focus. Last year it was £275, the renewal this year £250, bloody amazing, well played Tesco!

    Cars are snitches now.

Every vehicle I drive in the fire service apart from the fire engine has the same, you swipe your driver ID card when you get in and it monitors the telemetry and has a light system on the screen where if you accelerate too hard or brake / corner too hard it lights up for a split second, if it...

    The new TV thread

Went to curry’s to have a look at this at lunch and the quality looked decent. Ordered it from Reliant with free delivery so we’ll see. 👌

    The new TV thread

Wanting to get a 65” tv, this seems a decent price but any comments on it? Reviews look good. Not wanting to spend loads, just got some backdated pay from the fire service so thought I’d treat myself. It’s either this or a sage barista though 😔...

    The new TV thread

Is this going to be absolutely shite quality? It’s cheap as chips. For 25% of the time we watch the odd stuff on Netflix and prime, bit of dodgy stick, then kids cartoons for 75% I want a 65-70 inch tv as I feel I’m too far away from the tv for my 49inch, but don’t wanna spawns a lot...

    Gaming/office chair

I’ve got a secret lab, used to do 12 hour sessions no problem when I was a nerd gamer! Great chairs imo.

    The new TV thread

We stopped in curry’s yesterday so I had a look at TVs, I can’t believe how cheap some of the big TVs are, I was tempted to buy one there and then as I only have a 55 or 49 or some s**t. Sat down this morning browsing for an hour for something decent to watch, then the kids banged spidey and...

Tumble dryer - Vented or Condenser?

    Power Tool Perverts

At work we have ozito/einhell shite tools, but its mainly angle grinders that the dick heads throw about and use them to cut nails when making pallets and theres a nail sticking out. We also have a sds, drill impactor etc, theyre all shite to be honest, but they do get done what we need to get...

Yes that’s it, didn’t go ahead with one as apparently the dies are only good for 1000 cuts and cost 80 quid a set.

    The new tool thread

Been watching youtube videos, think im going to try and make a small crop tool for the small press. Busy for the next 2 weeks as I'm making a start with our 5s and doing a full factory shift around. There's like 11 pallets of these in the racking, I believe its about 8 tonne worth. We use...

    The new tool thread

Nah they’re from an old job that dried up. We make them into kits that go u set the bath, the m8 legs that normally go in the middle of the bath. They’re to long to use tho but if I can cut them down to 105mm I can use them. I normally import them from China 27t at a time in a container, they...

    The new tool thread

The mitre saw I tried and it struggles to hold it still. Even tried it with a big cutting blade in it like an angle grinder one. I’m thinking of trying to make a tool to go on a mechanical press to literally shear the end off. There’s 190000 of them to cut 🫣

    The new tool thread

Tried it, too slow and forever changing disks. This is what I looked at but the dies apparently wear out fast. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082FPN9TB/?tag=cliospnet01-21

    The new tool thread

Seeing as we have a wide range of clever people here I thought I’d ask for help. I have some threaded bar that is M8 that I need to quickly cut down. They’re 130mm and need to be 105mm so I need to chop 25mm off of the end. Ideally I need to be able to achieve one cut in 4-5 seconds max to...

    Understanding my boiler?

Nah I just put the times in and that was that. Was dead easy and works great. Not sure how much I’m saving tho but doesn’t seem a lot to be honest.

    Understanding my boiler?

Well in typical I’m a spastic style, winter is nearly over, and I’m finally getting around to programming the boiler and water today! 😂

Might pick up an half inch impacted, feel like I’m being stupid though for the amount of work I do. Better off with a chain saw and start getting wood ready for the log burner!

    Coil spring compressors

It was upside down, because I’d compressed it so much it just dropped in lovely the other way haha! what a spaz!

    Coil spring compressors

Think I’m gonna strip it and retest the other way, this just doesn’t feel right. Just wants to sit like this. can’t be this has defeated me!

    Coil spring compressors

Surely the spring is just going to slip over the top mount when I loosen. It’s there should be a ring with 10 mm a side diameter to hold it on!

    Coil spring compressors

Managed to get it compressed, stuck some rubber pads on the clamps to stop it slipping. I haven’t fully tightened / uncompressed yet. I’ve never done this, only ever fitted coilovers but does this seem right, I expected a perfect fit at the top of the shock. I can move it so it’s perfect bet ur...

    Coil spring compressors

Yeah, it’s crazy you’d think it would be easy. If I was at work I’d just mill some brackets up that sit at the angle, but trying to not drive all the way there and back!

    Coil spring compressors

The first pic they were quite level u til the right clamp jus slid round to the left 😂 going to give it one last go in the morning.
