    The new tool thread

Nah they’re from an old job that dried up. We make them into kits that go u set the bath, the m8 legs that normally go in the middle of the bath. They’re to long to use tho but if I can cut them down to 105mm I can use them. I normally import them from China 27t at a time in a container, they...

    The new tool thread

The mitre saw I tried and it struggles to hold it still. Even tried it with a big cutting blade in it like an angle grinder one. I’m thinking of trying to make a tool to go on a mechanical press to literally shear the end off. There’s 190000 of them to cut 🫣

Tried it, too slow and forever changing disks. This is what I looked at but the dies apparently wear out fast. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B082FPN9TB/?tag=cliospnet01-21

    The new tool thread

Seeing as we have a wide range of clever people here I thought I’d ask for help. I have some threaded bar that is M8 that I need to quickly cut down. They’re 130mm and need to be 105mm so I need to chop 25mm off of the end. Ideally I need to be able to achieve one cut in 4-5 seconds max to...

    Understanding my boiler?

Nah I just put the times in and that was that. Was dead easy and works great. Not sure how much I’m saving tho but doesn’t seem a lot to be honest.

Might pick up an half inch impacted, feel like I’m being stupid though for the amount of work I do. Better off with a chain saw and start getting wood ready for the log burner!

    Coil spring compressors

Think I’m gonna strip it and retest the other way, this just doesn’t feel right. Just wants to sit like this. can’t be this has defeated me!

    Coil spring compressors

Surely the spring is just going to slip over the top mount when I loosen. It’s there should be a ring with 10 mm a side diameter to hold it on!

    Coil spring compressors

Managed to get it compressed, stuck some rubber pads on the clamps to stop it slipping. I haven’t fully tightened / uncompressed yet. I’ve never done this, only ever fitted coilovers but does this seem right, I expected a perfect fit at the top of the shock. I can move it so it’s perfect bet ur...

    Coil spring compressors

Yeah, it’s crazy you’d think it would be easy. If I was at work I’d just mill some brackets up that sit at the angle, but trying to not drive all the way there and back!

    Coil spring compressors

    Coil spring compressors

Not sure if this is the right place but the coil spring snapped on our lasses fiesta, I’ve stripped it all, bought some coil springs but how the f**k do I use them safely, the springs are on such an angle the compressors just spin to one side etc. many tips?

    K-Tec poor customer service attitude

Fitted a few sports cats and always passed MOT, I thought that’s what a sports cat was for? Otherwise you’d just get a decat.

    Power Tool Perverts

I bought a blower / sucker a few weeks ago. took it back as it was w**k, I bought a leaf rake for like £30 from B and Q and its amazing, doesnt hurt your back and takes a few minutes to clear a 10m x 8m lawn with a full wheely bin full of leaves! Honestly get a rake!

    The new tool thread

Yeh is that the Mcallister one? It looked to only be 8ft in b and q. milwaukee do do one, but you have to buy a garden tool thing first, I could make it work as I need a strimmer as my cheap flymo packed in. really don’t wanna drop 350 on a pole say / strimmer tho! I also need a leaf sucker!

    Power Tool Perverts

It did look a right sod, these little pieces of steel look like they should move over to allow the clutch to push all the way over. That isn’t happening though. Thanks for your help by the way, bolted the top part back together before doing any damage 😳

    Power Tool Perverts

I can’t see anything obvious, where are you based? Anywhere near Rotherham. the clutch isn’t engaging fully. First picture is engaged in reverse, which works fine. Second picture show it not full engaged going forward.

Is that what you do restore lathes? I have an issue with mine so might throw a question or two in here if that’s ok 😂 hopefully will start stripping mine later, but basically it’s a holbrook lathe and to operate you lift the handle for forward and push it down for reverse. Now it has a mind of...
