I think my battery has just about had it on my valver. I have a few amps being powered by it so might need an uprated one. What do you all think?
Any specific brands that come recommended?
Cheers mate, looks like I'll keep playing around with it to see when it happens.
Always seems to catch you in the wrong place at the wrong time though, thats why its irritating!
Recently I have been having problems with my car cutting out under severe braking. Everytime I seem to slam the brakes on, my engine just dies on me!
Has anyone had a similar problem? or knows what it might be?
Have got a 95-N Valver w/ ABS btw.

This happened to my mates car the other day, as g40steve and johnnym said... we carefully used white spirit and then washed/polished the whole car.
What colour is the car?
Hello,
My mate's engine developed a knocking sound last night, sounded as if something had come loose inside and was banging against all the metal inside. Engine still starts (only tried it twice) but seems to be cutting out after 5 or 10 seconds. Btw its a mk1 RSI.
His next door...
Cheers Lunner.
So it can be welded in the car? Would it be best to remove the pedals as well to do this?
Looking at the previous pics of welds, it looks like it needs welded down the left and right hand side (looking at the column from the front seat). Would this sound right?
My mot is due next week, so time is against me. As a temp solution I would like to get it welded and then next week (Ive got the week off) fit a new one from Renault.
Is steering play definetly a mot failure?
Hi all,
Time for mot again and Ive noticed I have excessive play in my steering. After reading through previous posts on here, I think its down the steering column and uj...?
As a temp solution, Ive decided to have it welded by my mate. Question is, how easy is it do?? It looks fairly...
